Man oh man, that Seafood Chowder really did a number on my guts!
I THINK things have settled down overnight... I'm waiting until I get outta bed to be sure.
Lacy is coming over this morning, and we are going to look at a security camera for INSIDE our home. Can't put one outside as it would be considered an invasion of privacy for others living here.
The Management have a few dotted around, but not on people's HOMES... just the streets and parking areas.
When we get home I am going to continue working on this:
ABOVE: I started this bloody cute bag at Craft Group yesterday. I love it, and it's not even half done yet.
I should have it finished mid afternoon, and will probably start another one after that. We have TWO markets this coming weekend. So, best to have a few more up me sleeve.
ONWARD...
The 'nitty gritty' of yesterday's incident.
I made sure all our exterior doors were LOCKED before going to Craft Group. I wheeled my sewing trolley out the roller garage door, and stood and watched it close, to make sure Coco didn't follow me out.
When I got home I came back in through the garage roller door. I saw that the back garage door was unlocked, and was surprised because I knew 100% I had locked it.
So I proceeded to check the house. The ONLY thing that made me sure someone had been in our home was 'someone' had used the loo... and not flushed. If it had been a woman, she would have 'wiped' herself dry, cos that's what girls do. No paper in the bowl. I was like, who the fuck came in and had a piddle in my loo???
WAS NOT ME.
Nothing else was disturbed.
I was left just shaking my head, and was going to let it go, but Stew said I should let management know. So I did.
It still beggers belief that someone would come into my house just to have a piddle???? Like, WTF?
AUDREY: Coco sleeps 90% of the day in her bed in the front bedroom. She is very deaf, and her sight is limited as well. IF she saw a different person in our home, she would have invited them in and made them a cuppa tea. Milk and sugar provided. lol
So many questions!
1. No, the previous owner has since passed away, and he didn't have any of our home's keys.
2. No, the window company people could not just 'walk in', as I had locked all the doors, and they didn't have a key in the first place.
3. Yes the management here have 'Master Keys' to all the homes, for emergency purposes.
I have been assured by management that no one would have used a Master Key to get into my house, let alone to just use my toilet!
So it will probably just end up being one of those NEVER SOLVED scenarios.
I have now been out and bought two security cameras, one for the lounge to cover both doors in that area, and one for the garage to cover the back door.
Lacy has just left, so now I can sit back and enjoy having a spic 'n' span house.
2.15 pm, and ha ha! I did not 'sit back and enjoy' at all.
I jumped on a bus and went into town. Because I have it in my head to get new carpet!
Something I wish I'd sorted out before we even moved into this house.
I loathe the carpet that is in this house. It's colour is ikkk, and it's a cheap and nasty nylon carpet. No warmth. Just ikkk.
Lacy was bitching about vacumming it this morning, and how every little spec of ANYTHING stuck to it... and I was like - RIGHT. I'm done with this bloody carpet.
So, into town, get off the bus and a short walk later I'm at Carpet Court. I yak to them about what I want, grab a couple of samples and head home again.
All up it took about 2 hours. Enjoyable... the bus was nice and warm. No parking hassles in town, no petrol costs. It's just a total WIN WIN.
ABOVE: I didn't get too many samples as once you narrow down your requirements, it rules out 90% of what's in the shop.
When I went out today, I triple checked all the doors were locked, and I even locked the internal door between the garage and the house, which is something I don't usually do. It meant putting Coco and her bed in the garage, but she didn't mind. Her bed went on the carpet rug, so she wasn't cold, and she could still get outside to go potty.
Now... it's almost 2.30 pm, and I'm just a bit hungry, so will get myself a late lunch.
OH, I almost forgot. I met Ada, who bought our last home, on the bus. We had a wonderful catch up on houses, pool etc. She is still totally in love with her new home, and said she just needs to find some wall art like what I had, because she loved how I decorated the house. Awww, so nice.
I wonder if I will even get into Crabby Quarters today?
7.15 pm, and that question above? Answer is NO. I didn't do any sewing today.
I spent the remainder of the afternoon doing a freakin' jig saw!
Then I went to Weight Watchers, and quite enjoyed the meeting. I've decided NOT to weigh in for the foreseeable future, it just gives me unnecessary stress leading up to 'weigh in day'.
I will continue going, and at some point I might start weighing in again. But not right now.
I am perfectly happy keeping an eye on my weight, and as long as I stay within a certain number range, I'm happy.
My happiness cannot revolve around a damn number any more.
Do you realise that I have been going to Weight Watchers, on and off for 44 years!!!!
And now, I will sign off for the day, and catch ya tomorrow.

Morning I’m sure you can get “ring” door bells that have camera like a peep hole but door bell about Revitalift cracker size?
ReplyDeleteDo you think you left door open? When you went to craft group?
No way did I leave the doors unlocked. I double checked before I left and then I wheeled my trolley out the garage roller door and stood and watched it close, to make sure Coco didn't follow me out it.
DeleteWas Coco distressed at all when you got home - if not, seems strange if somebody entered your property. Was anything missing?
DeleteOur security camera only points to our home. It is a solar one so fixes anywhere. You could have one on your fence pointing to your front door and no one else's home would be in the shot. It still uses our home wifi but no trouble reaching that from outside. Also surely a 'ring' camera would be OK? It's a safety issue surely to see who is at the door?
ReplyDeleteJeebus I'd be freaked out if I thought someone had been in my house! I have a ring camera in the back room which I open the privacy cover on at night so I can watch the animals (2 x cats and 2 x dogs, and a rabbit) so if anything happens I can look back. I have one on my doorbell too. Maybe you can do that? It's on your doorbell so it's not an invasion of privacy but will alert you (has a motion detector) if someone approaches. You can put one in your lounge, in a corner where it covers all the room, too, so you'll see if someone is moving around. Good luck. I'd be completely unsettled if someone had been in my home. xx Colleen
ReplyDeleteI agree with Linda, as long as the camera does not see anything other than your place then it is not invading anyone else’s privacy. It also means you can keep an eye on your place if anyone is lurking outside.
ReplyDeleteWere the locks changed before you moved in? Could it be a previous key holder
ReplyDeleteRing the window companies that you were getting a quote from in case one of their guys came back to double check measurements or something. Very rude if they did just walk in though
ReplyDeleteOh Chris, how awful for you. So weird, that’s for sure and very scary indeed! Just a thought, do management of your complex have master keys to all properties? Hope you feel better today. I guess seafood chowder is off the menu for you 😢
ReplyDeleteLol..was the toilet seat left up or down? then you would know if it was a man or a woman...Peta....
ReplyDeleteNot necessarily, it took a while but hubby always puts the lid down
DeleteOk it must be a ghost then lol
ReplyDeleteAre you able to to put dummy cameras up to deter unwanted visitors ?
ReplyDeleteGosh still a busy day for you and yes glad you got cameras.
ReplyDeleteCarpet new carpet I love the feel and smell.
Yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwning. 12 plus hours on set today. But, I need some wind down time of my own. Hence the quick HELLO>
ReplyDeleteWow…44 years 😳
ReplyDeleteI’ve been going for over 22 years on and off…
Maybe cameras will help determine who is entering your home. That is crazy. If you know near by neighbors well as them if they see anything suspicious in your area. You may not be the only one experiencing this issue.
