Well, as you can imagine, I've got several jobs lined up for today.
The list is long, so Stew can just take his pick! I will continue pottering around in the house, sorting and putting things away as I unpack boxes.
Coco is booked in for a groom this afternoon at 1.30. She certainly needs it. I hope the groomer remembers we have moved, and turns up HERE. π
ABOVE: I do not remember seeing that huge handprint on my ranch slider before. Can you see it to the left, by the door handle? There's another one over to the right, ya can't see it in the photo. It's freaking me out. Best I clean the windows.
ABOVE: I unboxed linen yesterday afternoon. Question: How many dishcloths does one need? I seem to have A LOT! lol I'm giving at least half that lot to the op shop.
8.35 am: Coco woke up limping, not using one of her front legs. A bit of a worry, but she's done this before... and come right in a couple of hours. We think she sleeps with her leg bent under her and gives herself a numb leg... like we get pins and needles. As she's a massive whimp, she acts like a cripple! Here's hoping it's just that again.
Stew has gone to do the weekend shop.
And I'm here, sorting shit out.
It was really scary seeing all the boxes and so on in storage, but once you get it home, and find places for everything, it's not that bad.
Yes, we will have lots in the attic that will probably eventually go, but for now we are keeping a bit more than we probably need to.
Stew has a massive job sorting out all the shed/outdoor stuff... one thing I'm not doing.
I am so very thankful that after this weekend, we will have NOTHING in storage. Even the trailer will be here, where all the motor homes are parked. That is going to save me over $400 a month in storage fees.
1.38 pm: OMG so busy! We got EVERYTHING out of storage! It's all piled up around our house, inside and outside.
I sold some hand weights on Marketplace. They have already been picked up.
The young family who bought our table and chairs now have the extra chair and table extension.
Coco is being groomed as 'we speak'.
ABOVE: And we have fresh, hot cheese scones for lunch. I literally threw them together! They've come out lovely.
As I mentioned this morning, she woke up limping quite badly. ALL day, she wouldn't use her left front leg at all. But she wasn't crying or whelping in pain, even when I manipulated her leg. Hmmm.
So anyway, the groomers take her into their van and groom her. And when she comes out, she sprints off down the hallway, running flat out all over the house. Just so happy to be out of the van and away from the groomers.
Is she LIMPING? NOT AT ALL. Not even a slight limp! What a Trollope! Clearly she 'forgot' she had broken her friggin' leg. ππ
π
Moving on... still working hard on the unpack/sort/find places for everything.
I've got a huge amount to donate to the Salvation Army on Monday!
10 minutes later... I might have spoken too soon. Coco IS limping a little bit again. Let's wait and see how she is tomorrow. Maybe a visit to the Vet is on the cards after all.
Grrrr... now she's OK again. I think I'll stop worrying about her now.
We just had dinner, a very simple meal of sausages, mashed potatoes and baked beans.
Watching TV now till bedtime. Feet up, blankie on.
It's going to be COLD tonight and tomorrow morning. Expecting -1 C. So glad we don't live down in the South Island, where they got massive dumps of snow last night/today.
You lot have been very quiet today I might add... are you all over the moving shit? lol
Catch ya tomorrow.
It is so freeing once you close out the storage unit, i remember well. And a savings of $400 is awesome!! More fabric!! ;-) Ky Girl

ReplyDeleteYeah but chilled down here lots of snow up the road been so much rain of late can't mow lawns so wet even the dry buts of garden is wet. Coco limp reminds me of a cat we had....turbo his name was we go a puppy and so turbo wasn't the centre of attention so developed a bad limp except if he didn't think anyone was watching that is lol so funny. Turbo and dog (chrissy) became great mates in the end.
ReplyDeleteNo snow here yet, but freezing cold! Commiserations to Stew on the Chiefs loss! Tell him he needs to support the Crusaders now! Margaret
ReplyDeleteI love a good clear out, so I have really been enjoying your sorting.
ReplyDeleteIf you go back thru everything in January, after you have been there 6+ months and been through the holidays, my guess is you will be able to eliminate a lot more.
And then again 6 mos after that, ditto.
Going back through, fresh eyes, it is astonishing what else can be parred down.
