Today is going to be all about THE ATTIC.
We are enlisting Steve's help to get the wooden planks, and get it set up. Then we can put all the 'hardly used, but want to keep' stuff up there, out of the way.
After that, I hope the guys can put shelves up in the laundry, toilet and kitchen.
The guys will go out sometime this morning to get said wood and shelves.
ABOVE: This was the last thing to come out of the storage unit... and it's finally hung up again. I love this shell painting SO MUCH. It got hung late yesterday afternoon. I actually managed to get quite a few paintings hung yesterday.
While the guys work on the attic and shelves, I am going to unpack all our Britto, and put it in the cabinet. I fully expect that to take me a couple of hours, if not longer.
8.52 am: It is FREEZING. I've turned on the heat pump, happy to say it works and the room is warming up nicely.
ABOVE: Yesterday I was starting to feel really despondent. I had unpacked all the boxes, except Britto/China, and Sewing room. And I had not found my Te Awamutu painting. It is so precious to me. We got married in that little church in Te Awamutu, when we lived there from 1986 - 1989. It just turned up in a Britto Box!
ABOVE: I tried a Caramel Hot Chocolate somewhere recently. Bloody lovely! So Stew got some Caramel flavouring while out shopping yesterday. I had a cuppa this morning, added one cap full of the caramel stuff... oh YUM!
ABOVE: All the Britto is ready to go into the cabinet. I am just taking a little break. My hips and back are really, really bad today. I keep getting shooting, sharp pains in my lower back. Pain killers are on board, but not working yet.
ABOVE: The Ketter Shed is done, and I am so proud of Stew for getting it assembled. He is chuffed with it too. Now all the various bins are inside it, and that area is super tidy.
Steve has arrived, and looked at 'the list' for today. ππ Now he and his Dad are off to Mitre 10 for shelving shit.
And I shall get the Britto in it's cabinet.
Coco is 100% OK today. I do believe she's a hypochondriac!
The guys are powering through the jobs ... I'm so happy it's slowly but surely coming together.
7.30 pm: yep, it's been a long time since this morning's update. We have been very busy.
ABOVE: The lounge is getting closer to being done. That pile of boxes to the left is the new kitchen appliances, and some lighting.
ABOVE: Steve installed shelves in the laundry, and now it's finished. I might have squealed with delight! Crazy how much I love it.
I mean, it's just a laundry! ππ
ABOVE: The attic has heaps of areas with 'flooring' now. And the guys got everything in and there's heaps of room to spare as well.
ABOVE: Getting the Britto in the cabinet took several hours, not two like I thought it would take. I only had ONE breakage.
ABOVE: She plonks herself down on the floor, but only for a moment. She's far too busy to sit still for long.
We had dinner at our favourite Indian Restaurant, then home and straight down to the pool complex to have a long soak in the hot tub.
It was SOOOOO GOOD after a long day's work.
Home now, and time to relax some more.
I'll be off to bed early again. I am sleeping like a LOG at the moment, it's great.
Catch ya tomorrow.
Looks more and more like home every day. I love seeing how it is coming together. Ky Girl

ReplyDeleteAhhhh…the shells. Looking more and more like home. Make sure you rest. It will all come right in time. Caroline
ReplyDeleteHi have you been back to the pool and spa? have you met more neighbours? Peta
ReplyDeleteNot yet, we have actually been TOO TIRED to go down there right now!
DeleteForgot... neighbours. Yes a few, but damned if I can remember any names. It will come I'm sure, but right now I just tell them I am hopeless at remembering names. I'm not actually lying.
DeleteLove that youi have the paintings up, found your precious painting and are doing the britto. That will be a fun happy task. And the 2 men are amazing. By Tuesday I predict you will feel much better about everything
ReplyDeleteWhat I would give to have your creativity, motivation, and determination to get things done! WOW!! You are doing such an impressive job!
ReplyDeleteHad to look up on dr Google what a kitter shed was. Make a workbench too great job Stew.
ReplyDeleteI was out of town for a few days. Jeez, it feels like it took ages to catch up! I knew you would power through this move and have everything in shape in no time. I am exhausted. I drove 4 hours to visit a friend. We had quite the action packed few days. I don't know if you are a "Prince" fan. As in... the musician. He's from Minnesota. And there is a big memorial thing going on for a celebration of him. Anyhow.... We managed to get VIP passes to Paisley Park (Princes home and recording studio) And saw 3 amazing bands there last night. Including the "Time", they were the competing band with Prince in the movie "Purple Rain".... Anyhow, blah blah, it was an EPIC weekend. Busy from waking until 1 am ..... Now - I just got home. It is nearly midnight. I have ONE day to myself and then my crazy ass is starting work on ANOTHER movie. Which means 12 hours a day on set. But, gosh, it's addictive. This time I will be "on-set dresser" and mostly watching the monitor and making sure every single thing is EXACTLY where it is supposed to be at the top of each scene, no matter how many times they shoot that scene. Day one is a "meal" scene. One of the hardest things to shoot. Those sweet potatoes need to look the same time after time after time. !
ReplyDeleteLovely watching each and every step with you all there
ReplyDeleteIt’s amazing,,
Loving the black theme ,from the lighting and everything,
Makes a fabulous change to decor that’s for sure rather than the stock standard new things in lots of Homes ,,
You guys have put so much thought into each Buy π₯πΈππ
Neat pic of the three youngsters as well,,
Fantastic you had dinner out and enjoyed your Hot Tub
I Can’t visualise where the attic would be ,,,but so neat to have dry warm storage area ,
Cheers π₯
The 'attic' is just the roof space above the garage and house. It is quite high above the garage, perfect for storage.
DeleteAwesome ,,,thanks for that Chris
DeleteWe have similar in our garage ,and it’s amazing how much space it gives
Cheers π₯
