Hi ho!
It's off to Spotlight I go today.
I have run out of black fabric for the binding to finish these:
ABOVE: Four Dragonfly runners/Square Table Toppers. I will be quilting and binding them over the next few days.
All going well I should have them all done by Saturday's market at Tamahere.
And that is all I have for now. It's going to be a quiet day. After yesterday being quite busy, I'm happy to have a more relaxed day.
I wonder if we will hear anything from our Estate Agent today? I was so hopeful yesterday afternoon that those viewers were super keen. You just never know how it's gunna go do ya?
Even knowing there's a couple of other groups interested does not make this any easier.
9.45 am: And I'm just home from Spotlight, with a HUGE smile on my face.
I got an email from Spotlight last night, advising of their latest sale.
And also a 40% off coupon for any 'single item'.
ABOVE: I grabbed a full, unopened bag of wadding and asked it that was included in the sale? Like, could I get 40% off it?
The saleslady wasn't sure, so she called for her supervisor.
The supervisor checked the 'Terms and Conditions' of the sale/coupon offer and could see no reason why it wouldn't be included, so I got $300 off that wadding!
SCORE!
I also got the black fabric for a sale price as well.
I'm rather happy with my purchases today I must say.
Now I can start making more binding... which is a bit of a shit job, but needs must.
12 noon: NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO GET YOUR HOPES UP.
Heard from our Estate Agent. It's a big FAT NO from yesterday's viewers. They saw something else they preferred.
So, we continue to wait for that elusive sale.
I'm never baking cookies again. I'm not going to fucking dust and polish either. Fuck it all. So disappointed right now.
ABOVE: And here I sit again. There's a Private Viewing at 6pm. New people. I got 30 minutes notice. Lucky the house is 100% SPOT ON. NO cookies fresh out of the oven ... never doing that again.
And the sewing room is a little bit messy, threads on the floor etc. Too bad.
"Some interest there" is what the agent said. Heard that before.
It's better then none.
I have a new plan for tomorrow, it might not involve sewing.
It's now 7.06 pm, and I'm done for the day.
I'll catch ya tomorrow.
I realize your prices are a lot higher than ours, but even here, prices are crazy high on all kinds of things now.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like we use very similar batting.
You probably use up every bit of your rolls. I always have excess around at least one edge of my quilts when they come back from long arm quilter.
I have a lady who has been picking up my batting scraps. They are big enough for placemats or microwave cozies. I am just glad someone else can use them.

Wow that’s super savings right there nice.
ReplyDeleteThose runners are gorgeous.
OMG! I am so sorry about all of the disappointments regarding this house sale & purchase. I can not imagine why your house isn't selling. Next time leave the house a mess. Perhaps a bit of reverse psychology is in order.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people would love to buy your house but can't afford the mortgage with today's financial climate. I am not suggesting you lower your price but perhaps don't "bust a gut" to make it perfect and then be disappointed. I don't think you could ever leave the house in a mess (sorry Dogstars) but less is more, lol. Audrey
ReplyDeleteYou can’t do anymore to present your house Chris. It’s perfect the way it is. Buyers usually don’t look at polished furniture or cookies or anything else really. My opinion only. Maybe it’s just not the right time to sell? I know you still have time to run on this listing with your agent but would you consider taking it off the market after the time is up with a view to re-listing in say Spring? It’s been on the market for a long time and of course it’s doing your head in, you poor thing. A break from it will give you some time to relax. If it’s not absolutely necessary to sell now, maybe wait a bit.
ReplyDeleteYou are able to say no to these private viewings that come up with so little notice. You are already having two open homes per weekend so maybe that is enough for your nerves at this stage. Or, as Rhonda says, you could take it off the market for a while to give both you and Stew a rest. Audrey
ReplyDeleteOh Chris, I am disappointed as well... you've gone above and beyond to present your lovely home. Kia kaha!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree to the polishing and the cookies, eat them yourself....you have a lovely home and you can stay there if needed....Peta
ReplyDeleteJust wish the gods would smile on you so you can sell and move on!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a waste of biscuits!!!
Funny! I thought the same thing... wish I'd not given them all the cookies!
DeleteHave you looked at the competition to see what you are up against? Gigi
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating! Hopefully there will be a buyer soon.
