Another hot day ahead of us.
First up, we will get ready for our midday Open Home.
Then after that is over, we are expecting Steve, Bex and their kids, and Lacy and Keera. I've got meat in the crock pot for dinner, corned beef.
I will have to send Stewie out for fresh potatoes, cos ya can't have corned beef without mashed potatoes can ya?
ABOVE: We got a new hose reel for around the back of the house... it certainly looks better than the hose all over the ground in an untidy pile.
This one Stew said was like.... REALLY LOVELY. I agree. Bright and happy.
She's cute, for a cat.
Right, that's me for now, I'm going to lie here for a bit longer, there's no rush to get outta bed today.
So, here it is.
ABOVE: I couldn't sit and do nothing after getting the house ready this morning, so I came into the sewing room and started a longer Braid Runner, using the Dragonfly fabrics.
It's coming along nicely.
The Open Home went reasonably well. Three groups through, one was a 2nd or even 3rd viewing. They have a house to sell first... so like us, they are doing the 'waiting, waiting' game.
One was looking above their budget, twats.
And the other lot were looking for something more modern. Bye bye then.
Our's may not be 'modern' anymore, but it has some fantastic qualities.
Moving on... the corned beef is smelling amazing, cooking in the crock pot.
Steve 'n' Bex have to bring their potato masher when they come over, cos I seem to have managed to pack ours and put it in storage!
Gosh I don't know how I managed that, it's something we do still need.
I'm now back in the sewing room... cos I'm not into watching some "shoot 'em up, bang bang" movie on the telly.
ABOVE: Who needs expensive toys? 'Back in the day.....', but I didn't give her pots. That would have been too loud. lol
ABOVE: It has been a really lovely afternoon/early evening. Everyone had a good time, swimming, yakking and eating dinner.
Dinner was Corned Beef, Roast Beef, Bacon, fresh rolls, and cheesy mashed potatoes.
It is now 7.14 pm, and it's back to just Stew and me at home. Quiet again.
I'm freaking tired! The heat is just so energy sapping. I've got a fan on me at full blast and I'm still hot.
8.25 pm and I'm done. I just fell asleep in me chair, then woke up with a start! I'm going to bed. I don't care that it's far too early!
Catch ya tomorrow.
Enjoy that corned beef and mash. Yum! That and the company of your lovely family, the best Sunday.
ReplyDeleteHope all went well with the open home.
I had to check and see if you'd won lotto. Guess you wouldn't post it on here lol. Imagine all the greesers who'd be wanting to know you again. Lol
ReplyDeleteLove that square top. You have the knack with colours. Kj
cute kitty and table square.
ReplyDeleteWhat bang bang movie? Any good?
ReplyDeleteI think he's watching 'The Sentinel'... and I don't know if it's good or not cos I ain't watching it! I'm in the sewing room.
DeleteSounds delicious. I made a slow cooker meal early in week and haven't in possibly a year. Loved it and then used the gravy/ sauce to have over vegetables later in week. Your braid runner looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteBoth pieces are lovely.
ReplyDeleteVickie
Why don’t you use your aircon in cooling when it’s so hot, game changer
ReplyDeleteThe heat today was fearsome! We were at Te Aroa and I've been drenched in sweat all day.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of the topper. Glad your get together went so well. You needed that kind of day.
