Last night we went to a fairly new restaurant here in Hamilton, called Tudo Bem. It is a Brazillian Churrascaria style eatery.
The idea is you sit down and have servers come to your table with meats on skewers and you can have some, or not. You also are given accompaniments and sauces to have with the meat.
So first up we were served these:
ABOVE: A very small cheesy bun. Shame you only got one.
Then slowly but surely three people came around to the tables with skewers of meat. All servings were tiny, laughable even. Most of the meat was delicious though.
After about an hour of that they finally offered us some coleslaw... it was clearly pre-made from a supermarket. I kept waiting for the potato salad.
It finally turned up an hour and three quarters later, as we were leaving. We didn't have any.
We asked for some of the pineapple that was on the menu.
ABOVE: THAT just pissed me off! One of those tiny strips was from the damn core and I couldn't even eat it. I really thought they were taking the piss serving such a tiny piece of pineapple!
As the time wore on it became obvious there was bugger all coming out any more, so we left.
On a whole, an experience. One we will not be repeating.
ON a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being abysmal and 10 being outstanding, I give Tudo Bem a 4.
Sad really as we were really looking forward to trying that restaurant.
OH and it wasn't $50 per person, it was $54.50 per person. We left feeling ripped off.
Now, back to today.
I am not sewing!
My plan is to go out to Grandmother's Garden in Gordonton to look for some fabric suitable as backgrounds for runners.
I know I already have a lot of fabric, but sometimes ya just don't have quite what you are looking for.
Lastly for now, I'm finally meeting up with an old friend, who lives near us, but we haven't seen each other in like, shit, 20 years? Feels like it's been that long any way. So that should be neat.
I have NO IDEA why. I did not hurt it. I don't remember stabbing it with a pin.
The restaurant sounds really interesting. No photos of the kababs? It seems pretty expensive especially if you didn't feel full when you left! And there are no leftovers (my favorite). Is it all you can eat? Or they just walk by every great once in a while and drop off a bite of food? And if you like a kabob can you ask for another? I have never seen such a thing.
ReplyDeleteNot kebabs. Just pieces of meat sliced off larger pieces on a skewer. Very basic and not worth taking a photo of.
DeleteOh and yes it was supposed to be all you could eat. But it became obvious after almost two hours of getting tiny pieces of meat etc that they were winding the offerings down. If you wanted dessert you had to pay extra.
ReplyDeleteIt’s Magpie, this is exactly the reason why we no longer dine out.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your catch up with your friend….those kind of catch ups are neat
ReplyDeleteHave you got arthritis in your thumb? My finger knuckle feels like broken glass at times, start of it. Kj
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you are pressing your thumb too hard as you guide your fabric through the machine? Or maybe making that awesome hair for an hour did it? I don't know. Just throwing out ideas.
ReplyDeleteSharlene here. Saw that pineapple pic on your Facebook and thought it was a sorry excuse for a chip lol what a pathetic restaurant. Thumb might be arthritis? Mine gets sore somedays.
ReplyDeleteArthritis, and the sewing for hours is aggravating it. Think about what you use it for while you're sewing. Find a good anti-inflammatory cream to rub on it. Hope it feels better soon xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that the meal was so disappointing. It could have been wonderful and a bit different. I would say arthritis in your thumb. Try taking some slow release paracetamol. Is it in the joint or the fleshy part? Fleshy part could be a splinter or something along those lines.
ReplyDeleteArthritis in your thumb. Hope u had a great catch up with your friend
ReplyDeleteI used Pain Away from the chemist for my arthritic thumbs and toes. I have only used the cream, not the spray and it comes in a purple container
ReplyDeleteI hate when a restaurant looks promising and then they fail. Especially one that pricey.
ReplyDeleteI go with Arthur (arthritis) as some of the others. It really attacks my hands when I overuse them. Which is frustrating. I hope all is better soon. Ky Girl
Ugh on the restaurant and many hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteThat restaurant sounds so disappointing. I looked at their website and it looked so promising. Such a shame for you both.
ReplyDeleteNot a great restaurant good review though

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that the restaurant was disappointing - at that price per head, you would hope it was at least enjoyable and a reasonable experience. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you - and that your thumb improves.
ReplyDeleteI quite like your restaurant reviews. They are usually spot on! I just googled them and the are now a Chain restaurant. Soooo disappointing. Hope next week is warmer and drier for you. Should be here in Melbs. Sarah
ReplyDeleteWe buy those Brazilian cheese bread and cook them in the air fryer. Love 'em. We get them from Woolies/ Aldi/ Costco. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/893902?googleshop=true&store_code=woolworths_supermarkets_3007
ReplyDeleteRe your thumb- maybe gout? I sometimes get it in one finger and it kills!
I hate it when restaurants think they can serve crap and charge big prices like you cant make this stuff at home. Pasta in a restaurant gets on my nerves. £15 for what is 20p worth of dried pasta! Sorry your meal was a disappointment
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the restaurant, what a rip off. Hope your finger feels better. Have a good weekend.
