Gosh I totally forgot to show you this yesterday!
While looking for slip covers at the Laz-Y-Boy shop, I wandered into the connected Hunters Furniture store.
And saw this:
ABOVE: Seriously! I almost shuddered. It took me right back to when I was literally a little kid in the 60's.WHO in their right mind would buy something like that now days??? It's HIDEOUS.
You would have to be seriously into Art Deco.
I am going to really enjoy being old. Some might say I already am, but if I went around being too honest right now, I don't think I'd get away with it. YET.
I still guard what I say in a lot of situations, for fear of offending or being judged.
It's bloody annoying! Sometimes I do open me gob and just let rip, but not too often.
Anyone else feel the same way? I'd love to know.
Tonight we are having dinner at The Base with Steve, Bex and the boys. Lacy, Brylee, Griffin, Amanda... want to join us? You would be most welcome.
After dinner we are off to Harvey Norman's to look at a specific TV. One that might look awesome in the family room.
I will show it to you, IF we get it. But not until the renovations are finished, then you will see why we got it (if we did!).
Now, back to this morning. I'm up, ready for the painters to arrive in 10-15 minutes. While they work I am going to do some sewing.
OMG, you lovers of GREEN ! I did have a green leather lounge suite years ago, gave it to Russell from Memory.
Lacy just called in. I followed her all around the house, making sure she didn't hide any money.
In the end, I totally did not trust her.
So I patted her down, opened her pockets, and even shoved me hand in her bra!
Found the money. Took it.
Will make sure she ends up with it again in the next couple of days.
She will be here tomorrow and over the weekend as we have Miss Muppet.
The 'boss' from the painting company arrived to check things out. He's lovely.
He's not charging me for adding the skirting boards onto the job!!! AND he told the men to do extra painting (the ceiling) in our ensuite shower room too! Again no extra cost.
He's doing it as a favor to us, as we have gone over and above for them, by emptying the rooms of everything except major furniture.
ABOVE: That's Justin, the owner of Keith Mahon Painters. He got told to 'pose', so pose he did. No point arguing really... he knows another 'boss' when he meets her. ππ
π
I'm so glad I'm not the only person who thinks that lounge suite is YUKKKKKKK. For me, it's not just the colour, it's the style as well. All over Ikkkk.
So, it's now 5.11 pm and I'm actually really, really tired.
I have been out and about and all over the place today.
I went to Spotlight and bought some covers for the lounge chairs. Then need some 'adjustments' before they are perfect.
I'll do that tomorrow.
I also made something for the inside of my car.
I'll show you that tomorrow too.
For now, I just need to relax for a minute, and put me feet up. The painters cover all our furniture in the lounge and family room, so there's really nowhere to sit and relax while they are here.
Griffin just arrived, he's about to have a shower before we go out for dinner. NOT a fancy dinner, just food court, as the little boys almost always just want Sushi or McDonalds.
Suits us, we are not really 'fancy' restaurant type people anyway.
Best laid plans... go awry. The food court was packed, so Steve and Bex got KFC and brought it back to our house for dinner.
Then we all took off to look at TV's.
ABOVE: I didn't realise Steve was looking for a TV too!
ABOVE: Us standing around waiting for Steve to get his telly.
ABOVE: Don't ask! πππ
After Noel Leeming's (where Steve got his telly) we went over to Harvey Norman's to check out the one I had my eye on.
Probably bought it.
Yeah Nah. Did.
It's now sitting in my sewing room until we can set it up on the weekend.
Now home and just going to chill out until bedtime.
Um that lounge suit is so cool I would definitely have that in my house lol
ReplyDeleteYou are weird. How can you be a part of my family!!! π€£π ππ
DeleteBex, I adore that lounge too!
DeleteOh look! Another weirdo π€£π π
DeleteHaha weirdo's lol if it was Purple id have it in a heart beat π
Delete#Lacy π
Yes you would... and oh look! Another weirdo joins the queue!
Deleteπ
DeleteI too like that configuration - four people who like it (in purple for Lacy) maybe we aren't the weird ones!! Wouldn't do for everyone to like to same things - everything is so beige or grey these days. Audrey
ReplyDeleteOr white! Like my walls. It's just that shade of GREEN! Spew tucker.
DeleteI don't hate that green suite, I think it would be better to have just the couch or the chairs with different colour on the others so it is not all matchy matchy. Although I do agree with lacy - purple all the way :-)
ReplyDeleteI love those green couches. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMum and Dad had a similar one in Blue years ago...ughhhhh
ReplyDeleteThe older I get the more I say. But I hate confrontation and like you guard what I say sometimes, but I am telling it like it is more often than not lately.
They would be even better in sapphire blue!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Chris. Those green couches would have me running for the hills. Too bright, too green!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of that Mid Century Modern suite but would never have it in my house. They are too low to the ground and I hate low back chairs as well. The colour would drive me mad as well.
ReplyDeleteYuk, I don't like green anywhere except the hills and grass. The style is not too bad if it was a better colour. I also dislike green rooms, any green rooms.
ReplyDeleteIf it was offered to me free I'd take it. Throw some cool cushions on it and maybe a rug on one chair. But only if it's free! Kj
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't even take it, if it WAS FREE!
DeleteMust admit - I like the lounge too!
ReplyDeleteJoin the crowd of weirdos thenπ€ͺπ€£π
DeleteI love the lounge suite lol
ReplyDeleteBut I know I’m a weirdo x
Skips off humming * im a creep I’m a weirdo “
You are not a creep! Definitely a weirdo though. π€£π☺
DeleteNope that lounge is not for me! I even love green but not as a lounge. It will date so badly too. Love that you and the family catch up so regularly. I’m missing some of mine who are just across the border and damn Covid down there is keeping them out.
ReplyDeleteWe had a green vinyl lounge suite when I was growing up. Used to stick to it in he the Summer. The one before that was lovely, maroon flock don't know why they got rid of it.
