We struck a little problem with the new dog bed.
ABOVE: One of the girls kept jumping on the top of it, and squashing it. Then Coco couldn't get into it, and ended up sleeping on top of it.
So yesterday I took it around to Steve and asked him if he could build a small framework for it, that I could tie the top to?
And of course he could:
ABOVE: It's quite 'high spec'! ๐๐ Thanks Steve, that's gunna work just fine now.
No sleeping in today... got kids to feed. Bex and the boys are here for the morning.
It's SO LOVELY having family visit us so much.
11.05 am: And it's been a nice morning.
Kids are happily playing.
ABOVE: And this puzzle is still eluding Steve. He's been trying to get it back to a square block for a while now. ๐๐

The guys have just gone to the supermarket for some fresh food... lunch will be cheerios on fresh bread. I'll be having me yoghurt.
OK girls, in answer to your question about 'cheerios'. YES, it's a breakfast cereal here too. But we also call these:
Don't ask me why! It is what it is.
More questions: YES we eat the red part. And we call them 'small boys' here as well.
5.45 pm: And all is quiet here again. Such a neat weekend, had the kids here almost the entire day today. And they had so much fun with all the new fidget and puzzle toys.
Now, time to cook some dinner for Stew and I, before settling down to a relaxing evening in front of the telly.
8 pm: Dinner is over, dogs are off to bed, and all is good in our home. Time to sign off for the day.
Catch ya tomorrow.
The dog bed looks amazing.
ReplyDeletewhat a fab idea for the dogs bed frame
ReplyDeleteIt’s great having families nearby to come up with solutions to help, when different things need to be done
Steve is good staying at solving that puzzle , shows the wee guys too, not to give up easily
And also that their parents have patience ๐
Reminds me of the Rubix cube days ,
Enjoy the Cheerios , haven’t had them in ages,
Must add them to the shopping list
Cheers ๐ฅ
I hope you post a pic of these Cheerio's. Cheerio's here are dry cereal.
ReplyDeleteIn North America, Cheerios is a breakfast cereal, small rings of a processed oat mixture. There are different flavours, honey and nut, multigrain, and plain are a few that I know of. I assume you are not having breakfast cereal on fresh bread for lunch. Please explain what Cheerios are to us non-New Zealanders.
ReplyDeleteClever Steve, making that frame for the dog bed.

Do you eat the red part? No many questions.
ReplyDeleteDo you also call them “little boys” Chris. Here in Australia they are little boys ๐คฃ
ReplyDeleteWe call them little boys in Melbourne
ReplyDeleteJ
Country Victoria and they have always been cocktail franks to me
ReplyDeleteDog bed frame is amazing, very clever.
ReplyDeleteCocktail Frankfurts (or little boys) here in Australia. I cannot bring myself to eat them thinking of what they are made from ๐คฎ but each to their own
We call them Cheerios here in Queensland as well. Karen
ReplyDeleteI want to try them! Clearly, I need to go to New Zealand!
ReplyDeleteYep I have always called them Cheerios in Queensland! Haven’t had them since my boys were little and now craving them๐คฃ Steve is a clever bugger…. Well clever with the dog bed not so much the puzzle ๐ glad you e had a great weekend with the family!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear it's been a great family weekend love the ones you're with ๐
ReplyDeleteThe dog bed reminds me of this craft that is circulating the internet. A DIY cat (or dog) bed made out of a cardboard box, an old t-shirt, and safety pins.
ReplyDeletePull an old t-shirt over a box so that the neck lines up with the box’s opening. Tuck the sleeves in against the box to make the sides look neater, then show your dog its new cozy dog den. Put a pillow, or towel in there for a cozy cushion!
