After yesterday's most alarming and annoying news about a positive Covid case in an apartment building next to this Hotel, I was a bit concerned there might be negative repercussions for those of us about to LEAVE here.
Like having to stay and have another Covid test, just to be sure we were 'safe' for release.
But I've not heard a thing, so I am presuming that my departure at 6 pm today is still ON.
As you can imagine, I hardly slept last night.
All I wanted to do was get up and pack up. Get myself ready to GO.
YES.... I've still got hours to wait, but it's gunna happen TODAY.
BLACK FRIDAY of all days!
It's going to be my best Black Friday ever.
DOGSTARS: Hey chick, I've found those 'naughty word' Christmas Ornaments on Trade Me here in New Zealand, with a $4 postal cost, so am sorry, but I won't be ordering yours after all.
Good luck selling them over in your country, they are super awesome.
So. Last night I was sitting on the couch, chatting to Stew over the computer; and I glance to my right:
ABOVE: And two things enter my head immediately.1. OMG I need a new mouse pad!
2. OMG I've got OCD. Check out how EVERYTHING is lined up exactly the same!
I don't even realise I'm doing it.
I worry myself.
And that's me for now.Time to go and start the final packing!
ONWARD...
Oh and in case you are wondering... NO. I got virtually NO sleep last night.
I'm gunna rip that sucker off the wall... RIGHT NOW.
ABOVE: The Trade Me seller of the Naughty Word Christmas Decoration.
10.21 am: I have had a lovely, hour long soak in the bath.
Then I packed up all my stuff... except fridge contents. They will be at the last minute.
Then I put some face on, me clothes on....
ABOVE: And NOW... I'm ready.
Just have to twiddle me thumbs for... 7.5 hours.
1.13 pm: I went down to the Lobby walking area, thinking I'd so some walking to kill time.
But the most annoying thing kept happening!
My knickers kept falling off me butt. Grrrr.
So I had to go back to my room. Didn't want them sliding all the way down to me shoes!
Every pair of knickers I have with me are too big... luckily I have plenty more at home in smaller sizes.
4 hours and 45 minutes to go! Just have to get my final health check here in my room, then I can get a luggage trolley brought up in readiness for my ESCAPE DEPARTURE!
2.48 pm: It's so weird. I'm feeling nervous! Of what? No idea.
Just want everything to go smoothly with my release from here.
There is no worries about the latest Covid Case affecting my release now either. She was infected elsewhere.
I don't think I have ever had time go so damn slowly!
I'm trying to just relax and listen to my music, but all the last minute things I have to do keep running through my head.
Health check.
Empty fridge.
Pack up computer.
DON'T forget power cords!
Get a trolley for luggage.
Suitcases X's 3.
Handbag.
Phone.
Groceries.
DOUBLE CHECK I've got everything.
I'M GUNNA SEE MY DARLING SOON!!!
4.05 pm...
ABOVE: The ALL IMPORTANT Final Health Check is DONE. Now I have done everything I HAVE to ... I can leave at 6 pm.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE COUNTING DOWN FOR ME? Just a bit cute.
10.23 pm: AND... I'm home in Hamilton.
Safe and sound. And so, so tired.
I'm not going to add anything else tonight, I will do an update of this evening, tomorrow.
ABOVE: A lady outside the Hotel kindly took this photo of us. Back together again.
I am actually glad you found them locally. The cost of shipping is equal to the cost of the ornaments! No worries!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Day! Today!
Lol how did I know youd be up this early? No more sleeps. This WILL be your last day in that place. I admire you for the sacrifices you made for your mum. So many people wouldn't Chris. Love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteYay! Nearly home!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you please post a link for those Christmas decorations on trademe?
DONE... on the blog right now.
DeleteWoo hoo, only a few more hours til you can get the biggest hugs form Stew and the family. You deserve a medal for all you have gone through. You are one of the strongest women I know. I am so happy and proud of what you have achieved. I know it hasn't been an easy road to travel and there will no doubt be many tears of relief that it's over. Take care over the weeks to come and be kind to yourself as you find a new normal settling back into life at home. Be proud of what you have done but also allow yourself to grieve for your loss and all the changes. Thinking of you getting excited about being able to get out of quarantine and back home. I can almost hear you saying at 6pm "I'm f*****g out of here at full speed" 😜😂😘
ReplyDeleteYeeeehaaaaaaaaa, I can see the revs building up and the smoke on your feet as you "exit the building" - yay you!!!
