The Spa Room is going to be our Gym Room.
ABOVE: My attempt at drawing it out wasn't too bad! I had proportions wrong-ish, and had a wardrobe in the wrong place, but that's all really.
OH, there is a bath on the plan in the family bathroom ... but seriously? There ain't one in the house! lol We don't care at all... we never have baths. (but good to know there is space for one if we ever want one)
I think the single biggest thing we gain in this house is the Studio. It's easily twice the size of the bedroom I've been using here for my sewing room.
And of course, we will also gain a Gym Room, which means I get to put my car in the garage, and Stew has a nice view when he's working out in the mornings. Hell, I might even use the gym again!
Right... today.
I'm packing up the sewing room ... AGAIN. *smiles*
I've done all I need to do to be ready for Sunday's Market. So, I can pack it all up now.
I think Lacy is coming out again today too.
Goodness knows why? I think she just likes getting out of her house. And driving her car. She's car mad.
Our left overs might be a draw card too. ha ha ha.
Might be the day to get in our pool. First dip of the season and all that.
We will only get to use it for 4 weeks, cos it is staying here.
Last night I tried a new 'recipe' idea I got off TASTY'S page on Facebook.
ABOVE: Because someone is bound to ask me:
1. Lay out some Flaky Puff Pastry sheets (I put two end to end so they were long enough) ... get some chicken breasts and bash the shit outta them till they are nice and thin (messy!). Lay them on top of the pastry.
2. Lay on top of the chicken some bacon and whatever else you may like. I used sun dried tomatoes. Would have been lovely with Basil Pesto too, but we had none.
3. Next lay thin strips of Mozzarella Cheese, or any cheese you like, on top. I think Mozzarella is best cos it doesn't run everywhere.
4. Carefully roll up, put some melted butter, or milk or whisked up egg on top, sprinkle of salt.
Put in an oven dish that you have oiled... bake for about 45 minutes at 200 degrees C. NO LID on.
ABOVE: The result. Super duper yummy!
In the original recipe they used bread strips instead of pastry. I much prefer the pastry idea myself.
I made enough to feed a family of 4... so Lacy might get lucky today.
ONWARD...
It just occurred to me... you could use chicken mince for that roll up. So much easier. Yep ... any sort of minced up meat would work perfectly. Might try pork next time.
I've just been fluffing around so far this morning. Tidying up here and there. Living 'in transition' can be a bit annoying sometimes.
I have ended up putting some things back in the kitchen cupboards, instead of having it all out on the bench. It was doing my head in.
It will only take a few minutes to get it all out again come packing day.
12.26 pm: And Lacy has been... and gone again.
We got everything in the sewing room packed up. Another big tick.
Then Lacy ate some left overs... and had some to take home too.
Then we went out into the garden and did this:
ABOVE: Something else I saw on Facebook. A different way to take cuttings of plants. I am trying it with my Robinia Lacy Lady tree. If it doesn't work... oh well, I will just have to go buy one.
You cut the plant, dunk it in honey, then shove it into a piece of potato, then into dirt.
ABOVE: Let's see if that works. I have my doubts, but it's worth a try.
Just occurred to me: ROBINIA LACY LADY... yeah not two words I would ever put together usually!
ABOVE: Before she left, she showed me her bruises. One from Marley leaping off her lap and digging her claws in as she did it. The others are from lugging heavy boxes around (mine obviously).
Oh well... her choice to help, and I'm very thankful.
***LUNCHTIME*** ... going to have left overs as well.
2.39 pm: And I just had a visit from our son Russell.
He's working on a new house just 4 doors up from us, so thought he'd wander down to say 'Hi'.
Really, really lovely to catch up with him.
Lovely surprise that was.
Now ... time to fluff around some more. I've got 3 beds to make up before tomorrow night's visitors arrive.
Well the beds didn't get made... it can wait till tomorrow.
I made Cauliflower Cheese with bacon and veges for dinner, accompanied by Hassleback potatoes.
ABOVE: That was super yum.
Time to chill out for the evening. Coronation Street tonight... awesome.
OMG - that looks delightful!
ReplyDeleteAt this moment I am going away to do my breakfast, once having my breakfast coming over
ReplyDeleteagain to read more news.
Oh my that sounds and looks delish
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to figure out our you rolled it? Was there pastry around the edges we can't see and you just closed it up like a parcel? One other thing, bash chicken between glad wrap - no mess at all :)
ReplyDeleteI just rolled it up and stuck it in the casserole dish. It fitted perfectly, so I didn't have to worry about sealing or getting pastry over the ends.
Deleteoml I'll so be out there for lunch 😁😊👌
