Stew has taken today and tomorrow off work, so he can spend some time with the kids.
ABOVE: We hope to do the Treetop walk through the Redwood Forest, and also go up on the Gondolas at Ngongotaha, Rotorua.
The weather forecast is a bit shitty, so we will have to keep our fingers crossed that they have it wrong! Cos I don't fancy getting soaking wet.
I shall try and do some updates during the day, and add a photo or two as well.
Brylee picked all our lemons yesterday, quartered them and then put them in the freezer.
ABOVE: So now we have quite a few! Can anyone give me ideas on what to do with them? I'd love to use them ... but have no idea what for! I can't make lemon honey or similar as that involves using sugar, and we don't eat sugar any more. So... any ideas?
I will leave you to ponder that, while we get ready to head off to Rotorua soon.
ONWARD...
Midday.... having a neat time! We 'did' the Redwood Forest Treetop walk...it was ok. Expensive for a 20 minute walk! But still... it's an experience we can now say we've had.
After that we took a drive out to the Blue Lake and Lake Tarawera... gorgeous area.
The weather is stunning! Nothing like the forecast! Very thankful for that. We are now at Capers in town for lunch. It's a really good cafe.
ABOVE... WAITING for food...
ABOVE....OMG! Guess what we did? Something I never in a million years thought I would do...
6.15 pm and we are home. I've had computer issues again. So, here's a few photos for now... no captions as such as I don't have time before my FBG walk tonight.
I'll update later properly.
BELOW: The Redwood Forest Treetop Walk.
BELOW: Lake Tarawera:
Sorry, that's all I can do for now... will be back later. Or tomorrow... let's see how we go?
Well... even though it was raining lightly, we did go on our FBG walk.
Griffin came with me, and there were about 9 of us girls.
ABOVE: This walk was 5.24 kms long, and it was dark by the time we finished it. I was tired.
Once we got home, we quickly changed out of our damp clothes and went down to the local Indian Restaurant for dinner. We had their amazing Butter Chicken again, though Stew had some other Chicken dish.
By the time we left it was utterly pissing down... so that was the really shitty weather we had been expecting all day.
I'm going to hold of posting photos from our trip up to the Skyline/Luge till tomorrow. I'm too tired to do any more editing right now.
Catch ya tomorrow.
Have a fun day in rotorua.. we loved the forest walk..
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous day here in rotorua!!! Let me know if you want to catch up 😉
ReplyDeleteHeights make me queasy. I will live vicariously through you for both those events! Have fun. Lemons - put inside chicken when cooking, squeeze over fish or chicken once cooked, make lemonade (with a bit of non-sugar sweetener), squeeze into tea.

ReplyDeleteI was at capers at 9.30!!! We're at Third Place....great food.
