Well, let's make this short and sweet.
First up, finish off the street number pole, ready for Stew to assemble it and attach it to the fence on Saturday.
Next: take the dogs for a walk, providing it's not raining. And that's quite likely.
If it is raining, I will be doing the washing and hanging it on racks.
After that, I am going to start on some sewing... there's so many UFO's to get through it's scary.
I hope that I can get them all done in the next month or two, then I can start on my next quilt.
Due to a lack of any photos for the day, so far... I give you this... cos it's cute.
ABOVE: Cute eh?
Time to get moving... if only to get some washing on.
ONWARD...
So, rather typical. It's raining. So I've been mucking around in the house doing odd jobs.
Now I'm about to go out for some black paint for the number sign, just for around the edges.
I don't think there is anything else I need while I'm out... but ya never know!
ABOVE: It looks very 'home made-ish'. Not sure if it's good enough to hang out the front. I suppose I shall have to wait and see what Stew thinks?
One thing I AM happy with is this:
ABOVE: This is the doo-dacky that the number will be hanging under. I love it. I found the blue glass pendant in one of my jewellery boxes. I remember buying it from the Hospice Shop in Manurewa years ago.
6.58 pm: And the verdict is in. Back to the drawing board with the number sign. I will still use the numbers, but tomorrow I will make a perfectly rectangle board to mount them on.
And no pissy black edge... it's too hard to get it perfect.
The rest of this evening will be spent doing bugger all. My mind is busy thinking of what I/we can do to help someone out of a big hole.
And on that note, I'm done for the day.
I like the sign... love the glass pendant too... my only suggestion would be to paint the black edging blue :)
ReplyDeleteI like the pendant and the sign at least you will be able to see it canyou glue a border of the same pattern around the numbers like the border on the doo hicky thingy? or yes maybe paint it blue. Its me Blondie.
ReplyDeleteLove it! The glass pendant is perfect! It's a Turkish Evil Eye to ward off negative energy and any evils. http://www.evileyestore.com/evil-eye-meaning.html

I like the idea of a rectangle number board, I think it will look better
ReplyDeleteThe blue pendant is called an "Nazar" or "Evil Eye". The eye is said to have mystical power and protects the owner from evil spirits and jealousy. I have a set of the same worry beads hanging in my car and a hamsa at my desk. Great idea to include in on your sign post.
