Today Stew has the day off.
And it was going to be a 'just the two of us' day.
But now we have young Dante with us, and we couldn't be happier.
One on one special time with him is going to be awesome. It would be so lovely to have that sort of time with more of our grandchildren...
So our plans for the day are fairly fluid. I'm thinking a walk on the beach (Mission Bay), then a lovely lunch somewhere there. Maybe an ice cream at Movenpick too.
After that I expect we shall head home so Dante can have a nap. And we can have a relax too.
I made another clay house last night, but didn't get it finished, so maybe I will do that this afternoon.
I think I will make it my last clay house. The next thing I make will be my 'totem pole' garden ornament.
I'm sure I can get it made, fired and finished well before we move. I can put it into storage once it's finished too.
Right, that's all for now. Catch ya later, have a nice day... cos we will.
ONWARD...
Our conversation with Dante this morning:
Granddad: "How about we go out to the beach Dante?"
Dante: "No, we stay here and play."
Granddad: "We can get an ice cream at the beach... ."
Dante: "NO!... I want to stay here and play with the toys."
Granddad: "Don't you want go out for lunch at McDonalds?"
Dante: "No. TOYSHOP! I want to go to the TOYSHOP!"
Granddad: "OK then we will go to the toyshop."
Dante: "I stop crying now. We going to the TOYSHOP, I not cry anymore."
THE LITTLE BUGGER WASN'T CRYING AT ALL!!!
So we went to Sylvia Park ... played at the playground, visited the toyshop, where we got a little toy for him and Archer, then lunch at McDonalds.
ABOVE: going down the travelator with Granddad...
ABOVE: in the playground. That was a rather steep slide I must say. Short, but steep. I watched one wee toddler sit at the top and I could see her mind ticking over... "It's too steep... I might just sit here forever." Her Grandmother eventually enticed her to slide down.
So it's now early afternoon and we are chillin' out at home. Dante WAS put to bed for a nap.... but that didn't last long... he didn't even go to sleep. *sigh*
Luckily he's a very well behaved little man and is no trouble to have around.
7.53 pm: well I managed to get my 3rd little clay house finished this afternoon.
Very happy about that.
So glad we put carpet on the stairs... it cushioned the fall... when Dante tumbled down them! Luckily he only went half way down, and didn't hurt himself. He got a big fright though, so hopefully he will be more careful now.
Steve, Bex and Archer arrived for dinner. We all had chinese. Dante goes home tonight. This was his first EVER night away on his own. We feel special it was with us.
Totally looking forward to Coronation Street tonight, man I love Friday/Saturday nights! I'm a bit of a sad git.
End of Day: and it's been a really lovely day.
Looking forward to tomorrow too. Not sunday though, never sunday.

ReplyDeleteAwww looks like you had a lovely day! My husbands parents used to have our boy over night for us quite frequently - we're now 300 miles away so it's stopped for now which is a shame as we all enjoyed it :D peace for mum and dad and boy was spoiled rotten by his grandparents!
ReplyDeleteGrandkids they cotton on fast ha. What a neat day had by you all.
