We are going to Orewa Beach.
Now because I don't want to go swimming, I shall browse the local shops.
Not sure yet, but Bex and Dante might come along too. It will be a nice family outing, no matter what.
So... that's the plan for today.
The weather is supposed to be lovely, so yaaaa!
Here's a photo I took of the kid in the bath the other night, but forgot to post:
ABOVE: You can never have too many bubbles! Steve is always overdoing it!
ABOVE: This was Tallulah just about to jump into the bath with Dante. She was just so funny, and adorable.
Well... I suppose this isn't getting ready to hit the
If not, I shall just have to lie in the sun I suppose.
ONWARD...
The beach... WAS AWESOME! I almost decided not to go, but am so glad I did go.
The shops. Well I only went into 2! I bought a new top from one, and some knick knack type things in another (for Stew's Birthday on the 8th), I'm sure he will LOVE them! lol
Well... I love them.
After about an hour at the shops I rejoined the man and kids on the beach.
Stew and I hadn't planned on getting into the water (shark phobia in full swing), but it was so hot we did in the end.
It was GLORIOUS. Not cold AT ALL.
ABOVE: The kids. As you can see, it wasn't crowed at all. But then Orewa is a very long beach, so hardly surprising.
ABOVE: The tide was almost fully out, but it was still lovely. The sea floor is still hard when the tide is out, unlike Maraetai which turns to mush at low tide, quite ikkk.
ABOVE: Stew taking in the view, and watching the kids. I was lying on the ground getting some sunshine.
ABOVE: There were more people down by the surf club, but still not many.
It really was a lovely day, and I think we will be going again in a few days time.
It's almost time to put dinner on. I'm cooking the family chicken breasts slow roasted in the oven, with rice and a side salad.
Me? I'm having seafood salad... *drooling* at the thought.
End of Day: we are all sunburnt! There was some mean as heat in that sun today! I think sleep will be difficult for some of us tonight.
Ouch.
nite nite
Have fun at the beach. Happy belated New Year, all the best to you and the family.
ReplyDeleteLots of good shops at Orewa. It's quite big. And such a beautiful beach. You will enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteKoo
Yes, quite a few shops, including a cool game and puzzle shop. May not be your thing exactly but the kids will probably love it! Enjoy Penny xo
ReplyDeleteI didn't think about Orewa Bech, we are thinking of going to the beach tomorrow so might head up there, pretty close for us. The kids & I went to Milford Beach yesterday.
ReplyDeleteOh I love Orewa beach how you guys get some relax time enjoy...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great day minus the sunburn!
ReplyDeleteDid you change the handles on your kitchen cupboards too? Your before photo's all show all the handles different. Good for you if you did!!
ReplyDeleteLoads of love Kitty, all purpose quilt blog
We changed the handles quite some time ago. The photos I used for the 'before' photos were from ages ago too, so had the old handles on. The new handles were put on about a year or two ago if I remember right. They don't catch on clothes like the old ones did.
Deletethe beach looks lovely!!! I am very envious today in my 32 degree office LOL!!!
