First thing today... I am taking all the pups out in the car.
To the vets.
It's time for their first immunisation... and Vet check.
I shall take their 'book' with me.
In it I record their daily weights. It's also got their date and time of birth, birth weight and so on.
ABOVE: There ya go girls, if you wanted to know your puppy's birth time, date and weight... it's all there. I keep forgetting that 2 pups were born on the 25th, and 4 on the 26th. Oh and I even recorded their birth 'position'... Ruby and Jet were both breech pups. *smiles*
ABOVE: this is my big pet travel case. All the pups fit in there with room to spare, so they won't be miserable in the car.
This time I am leaving Coco at home. We won't be out for long and taking her is just a pain in the butt. She gets all hyper and is impossible to keep calm.
I don't need that while trying to carry 5 puppies into the vets.
ABOVE: I have this end of the lounge back, now the pups are in the laundry. And the back of me computer desk is still bugging the shit outta me.
I really don't like how untidy it looks.
Stew might just have to make me a screen... we have talked about it before, but it just never got done.
Seriously, I think I have a real problem with keeping things 'tidy'.
A few weeks ago I did one of my epic 'tidy up' sessions. Then Griffin's teacher started telling him he needed to bring his class portfolio back to school.
And ummm... do you think I could find it?
NOPE.
I had 'tidied' it up so well it was 'lost'.
Then I had a light bulb moment yesterday, and thought... hmmm... maybe it's in with the photo albums that I put under the stairs?
So... I hauled all the crap out of the cupboard under the stairs, (with a fair amount of swearing thrown in for luck), cos it hurts my back to half bend in a cramped friggin cupboard.
AND... I found it. AND 7 photo albums of my Mum's that we had 'lost' too. My Mum's happy now, and so is Griffin's teacher.
Brylee goes to Alfriston College today. It's Orientation Day for kids who will be going there next year.
She wants to walk. That will depend on the weather. If it's still raining I shall take her, too bad that she wants to walk.
She can walk home! She has a big hill to climb on the way home... lol.
But, as I said to her, if I can walk up that hill, she sure can!
When we get home from the Vet's, I'm not sure what I shall do.
But it might involve a TV control. Or me Kindle.
A quiet day me thinks.
ONWARD...
Home again. Not one of the pups yelped when the vet gave them their injection! Very impressed.
All went well at the Vets, all pups were checked over and declared BEAUTIFUL, and very healthy.
All the pups are now sound asleep, it's exhausting being taken out in the crate, jabbed, poked and prodded, and even (oh how indignant!) had their temperatures taken via the bum! lol
I'm off now to see what mischief I can get up to.
I sat down to groom Teddy, but my blasted grooming shaver is not working. Grrrrr. Now I will have to try and get him booked into a groomers soon. Fingers crossed I can get him in somewhere.
Now... YES... it is all about the pups on my blog right now!
And of course, I have photos to mark their 6 week milestone:
They are all doing well... slowly weaning off Coco, and all eating softened Pro Plan Puppy pellets (small breed). By the time they go home I hope all their new families have got PRO PLAN PUPPY PELLETS waiting for them.
The laundry basket is their latest 'mode' of transport from their 'room' to outside. If I let them walk, I get 5 piddles from one end of the hallway to the other!
Ahhh... no thanks!
Dinner tonight was pork chops, bacon, potato and a lettuce salad. Very nice.
After dinner the pups came into the lounge and had a romp around. ONLY 4 piddles and 1 poop tonight on my carpet. LOL.
Baking soda... again tonight!
End of Day: I have enjoyed today. I did virtually NOTHING but play with the pups and watch some telly!
OH and feed the family, I suppose that counts for something?
nite nite
ohh the vet is right, those puppies are just beautiful. What an adventure for them.
ReplyDeleteGlad the puppies didn't cry getting their shots!!! Good luck with Teddy's grooming situation...........

ReplyDeleteChris you are AMAZING !!! If I was in NZ I know who i would be buying my puppy from, the puppies have been loved and cared for right from birth :) You have done a fantastic job :)
ReplyDeleteRobyn from Australia
OMG, it's nuts to me that it's been six weeks since they were born??? where in the world has that time gone???? PS: thanks for stopping by my blog xxxx
ReplyDeleteVery detailed record!
ReplyDeleteYour "messy look" looks neat and clean to me. I rekkon you want to hide the back of the computer desk...
Have a great weekend!
The new families that the pups will be going to are very lucky that the pups have had so much attention from you since they were born. They will all be getting very healthy, happy puppies.
ReplyDeleteMight as well enjoy them while they are there, not too much longer and we'll all be in puppy withdrawl mode ;)
