BODHI.
I can't wait to hear from Tess and Russell... I hope they have some good news, or at least are able to say he had a good night.
It is such a worry when such a young infant is ill... and when it's one of your own grandbabies it's a bit scary to tell the truth.
At least I'm not on my own... Stew is home today. He goes on school camp with Griffin tomorrow, so took today off as well.
I'm sure we can find something to do... like PACK for him and Griffin!
I doubt I will get much done until I hear from the family in Australia.
I feel a bit awful that I can't be there.
And also that my sister is going through hell with the loss of her boyfriend so tragically too.... at least my Mum is going to be with her for a few days.
Mum lives in Coffs Harbour in Australia so isn't too far from my sister in Brisbane. Well... I think it's about a 4-5 hour drive away?
Right, I'm off to get lunches made for the kids... then I will probably sit and look at me phone, willing it to ring !
ONWARD...
UPDATE ON BODHI: he has Bronchiolitis. The blood results are not in yet, they should be in later on this morning. The doctors think there is something 'else' going on with him too... as he has been a VERY SLEEPY baby from birth.
Not to be confused with bronchitis.

Bronchiolitis is inflammation of the bronchioles, the smallest air passages of the lungs. It usually occurs in children less than two years of age and presents with coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. This inflammation is usually caused by respiratory syncytial virus. Treatment is typically supportive and may involve the use of nebulized epinephrine or hypertonic saline.
Tess is staying in the hospital with Bodhi, while Russell has taken time off work to look after Haylea and Sienna.
Apparently Bodhi could be in hospital for quite a while... not good at all. Poor wee mite. It's going to be tough on Tess and Russell.
It breaks my heart to see any child like this! I'm praying for a quick recovery! {{{hugs}}}
ReplyDeleteI hope the news is good news :-)
ReplyDeleteKeeping all your family in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you.
I hope you have some very good news to tell us about soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear all your worrying news. I hope today brings better news and you can rest easy knowing all is going to be well.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you as one Nana to another......big big hugs :) xx
Lots of positive best wishes for everybody in WA. It reminds me of when Corby had his 2 surgeries at that age. It will be a tough time for them definitely. I'm sure everything will be fine.... we have the best care in the world here... we are really so very lucky.
ReplyDeleteAt least now they know what are looking at, wishing him a speedy recovery and hope the bloods come back all good.
ReplyDeleteSending our best wishes that Bodhi is well and home soon. No parent, grandparent wants their children sick. I know how hard this is on all of you and send best wishes that all is well soon.

Since Stew and Griffin are going away why don't you get Lacey to mind Brylee and go over to Oz. You would be a big help even if it's only for a week or so. I'm sure between Lacey and Steve & Stew when he gets back everyone will cope without you. I know it's expensive but in the end it is only money. Use a credit card if you have to.
ReplyDeletePoor Bodhi, it must be such a horrible time for all of you. At least now they know what is wrong & he is in the best place to be looked after & checked to make sure there is nothing else.
ReplyDeleteIt is horrible when babies & children are ill and we cannot do anything about it. I can imagine how much you want to be there at the moment but I am sure they know you are thinking of them.
Sorry to hear all this bad news Chris. Will be thinking of you & yours... xoxo
ReplyDeletePoor bubs He is in the best place to be cared for.
ReplyDeleteDoes Tess have family close?
Just got back from holidays tonight after a long 9hr drive, part of the overall 21hr drive!! Sorry to hear about your grandson. I'll be saying a prayer for him tonight. It feels like I've been out of the loop for months but I was only away for a little over two weeks. Little Bodhi sounds like he's in the best possible hands! Take care and I'll talk to you soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your sisters boyfriend Chris. I am in Brisbane so if you would like anything taken to your sister or I can do anything please let me know. I would be only to happy to help out.
ReplyDeleteI hope things start to improve for Bodhi and Stew and Griffin have a fun and safe camp. I'm sure Brylee is going to love having you all to herself.

How helpless you must feel having a sick grandson so far away :(
ReplyDeleteIf you would feel better going over then don't let money stop you - where there is a will there is a way, just a shame that Perth is so much more expensive to get to than Sydney etc. I'm sure the news will get better soon xx
It is sad when you or your family are a distance, and they and you need to be closer a worrying time I hope some better news maybe in a few days.
ReplyDeleteMy poor wee 6 week old has just had broncholitis is is horrid but unfortunately very common this time of year. The bronchioles in new borns are just so little that they close over so easily. They can't give anything for the broncholitis per se just support the oxygen and feeding, it is very distressing to see them with tubes comming out everywhere. I hope Bodhi picks up quickly . He is in the best place.

ReplyDeleteSuch a worry for everyone, Bless him, I hope he is well soon. Magpie
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to Bodhi and his mom and dad. I know how worried they must be. Sending prayers to give him strength to overcome his illness. xo
ReplyDeleteI hope Griffin has a wonderful time and he might just surprise you in being a little bit more organized. Sounds like a lot of fun. Did you say this camp was School related?? ...debbie
Best wishes for you and yours in these hard times.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you. Hope the little ones are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you just fly over for goodness sake? How hard up are you? It's your grandchild, you know. Show you care by being there!!
ReplyDeleteChris, my grandson had RSV at one year old. I know how scary and serious it can be. He pulled through just fine after a few days of serious antibiotics so I have high expectations for a full recovery for Bohdi. I will keep you all in my prayers. I wish you could get to your kids. Money is an awful thing to have to worry about. I know they understand. But, waiting by the phone is not a good day. Penny in Florida, USA
