I think the heat is really getting to me ... excess weight is bound to have a lot to do with that.
If only I didn't like carbs so much... they are my downfall over and over again. It's so easy to just have a sandwich for lunch... no fuss...no worries about what to eat... grrrr.
I really do need to sit down and make a sound plan .... what I can have for lunches is the biggest problem.
What do YOU have for lunch.... if you are doing low carbs?
What else is on my mind? Well...I don't really want to do the Market again... the thought of standing around in the heat all day and selling sweet bugger all is doing my head in. I keep thinking... 'but what if'... you know... if I go it might be a better day... but what if it isn't?
And if I decide to go... I will want to take some of the Coaster sets (of 4) too.... just in case they sell.... which means I need to buckle down and make more today and tomorrow. I wish I could decide....
ONWARD...
Right... I made up my mind to do the Market one more time... so with that in mind I have been making friggin coasters all day:
ABOVE: I made some like this and that and some more of the green ones and ..
ABOVE: I ended up with this many more for Sunday. And now it's like.... almost 3 pm and I still have not had me lunch!
So, the secret to a good 'diet' is to get really busy and forget to eat! HA HA HA...
AND to add to my already busy day... our Real Estate Agent rang and she's bringing some people through our house TOMORROW AT LUNCHTIME.... and ummmm...we are not even on the bloody Market yet! And that's if we decide to even sell.... but I said 'Yes' cos ya just never know what could happen eh?
End of Day: and instead of enjoying a relaxing evening with a tipple or two, Stew and I are mowing lawns, weeding, cleaning, polishing... in readiness for tomorrow. I think we are mad (as in: nuts!). nite nite.
Sounds like you have been busy. I cannot get into the holiday spirit. Put up my tree today finally. My grandkids thought I was being a humbug. Have a great weekend ok?
ReplyDeleteWhatever you decide I hope it works, don't be discouraged FOR the first time ever in my fundraising life last weekends BBQ was a dud, EVERYONE was at the xmas parade and we flopped big time WAS it AKLD xmas parade last weekend? by chance take a handheld fan and a bucket of ice for the feet.
ReplyDeleteLunches...
ReplyDeleteSalad and some protein
Omelette
Eggs
Smoothie
Protein Bar
Yea and I know you would rather have a sandwich!
I say GO and have fun at it, no matter what!! As for lunch, I had a salad with a nice big hunk of salmon on top. (4 ounces)and fat free Italian, which I'm finally after 6 months, am beginning to tolerate....debbie
ReplyDeleteWhen I do low carbs (almost never as I too have a carb addiction) I make meat, cheese and lettuce roll-ups. Easy to make and eat. Not sure if you like hard-boiled eggs, but they're easy for lunches too.
ReplyDeleteI think go for it... I would do it this weekend rather than next weekend... I know it's boring etc. but maybe take a book?? Plus it might be better now you've seen some familiar faces...
ReplyDeleteAnd... if all else fails.... you could always pack up early!

PS: I hear ya with the carbs... I have GOT to stop eating so much bread... back into salads and stuff *bleh*....
I used to make up a stir fry of chicken and veges with that Maggi Cook in the Pot Chow Mein Mince packet and no rice etc. in it... have it for lunches re=heated.. very nice... for a change from salads!!
Thanks for the congrats chick :) I so don't have ANY doubts about this one ;)
ReplyDeleteHope the day at the market goes well for ya!! :D
It is hard for me to get past a sandwich for lunch, too, unless it is a really good salad which is sometimes not much better.
ReplyDeleteMaybe give yourself another week or two to find out if the market will work for you.
Lunch is definitely the hardest. If you are at home have a later breakfast and make it a big one. ie bacon eggs tomatoes etc. This should see you through for a while and have a smaller latish lunch
ReplyDelete1)platter of nuts, salami cheese etc
2)soup
3)a couple of sausages
4)an omlette
5)use iceberg lettuce leaves, smear with mayo or mustard and stuff with ham, cheese, tomato, egg salad etc and roll up
If you are out you can get get a ceasar salad, no croutons virtually anywhere.Or a greek salad and a kebab.
-or a curry, no rice. etc.
The more of a routine this becomes the less I found I needed lunch - but always keep something you can snack on quickly if you become desperate. A roitisserie chicken in the fridge is great for this, or some nuts, a slice of cheese, chorizo sausage etc.

WHAT???? is wrong with 2 slices of healthy grainy or sour dough bread with some protein and heaps of salad. This low carb carry on just really does my head in. If you can't eat a healthy sandwich for lunch then I give up.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you like tuna Chris (I do but only with all the oil drained off) but it goes really well in a salad with chopped up boiled eggs. Also, those packs of shaved ham are good at our place. Oh, and even though cheese is my biggest downfall, grated cheese works well in a salad to bulk it up.
ReplyDeleteLately I have been throwing ham and veges in a quiche dish and then mixing up eggs, a little milk and salt and pepper and pouring it over and baking it. A quiche without a recipe, or a baked omelette!
Also, I am in Auckland and there are shops selling pita breads but they are really flat, more like wraps. I enjoy them with chicken or tuna and salad - not no carbs but they are nice and thin so you don't get bread overdose. I have never found them at the supermarket, only at the convenience store. A company in Onehunga makes some of them.
Hope some of the suggestions help!
Good luck with the market!
The mug rugs are such a fantastic idea. If I was crafty I would make me some!
ReplyDeleteI don't do low carb anymore but am losing weigh. Volume eating is what works to get me through the afternoon so something like 5 or 6 rice cakes with peanut butter and banana on top works really well. Also covers lots of food groups.
When it's hot, I got the the grocery store and hang out in the very cool freezer section :-)
ReplyDeleteYour coasters are terrific-- love the fabric selections and colors.
I got a new sewing machine for the holidays-- just took a class today to learn how to use it. I'll be sewing all weekend.
Stay cool, jj
I love a salad, but not just a basic salad - add olives, feta, sundried tomatoes, capers - lots and lots of yummy stuff. Even grapes in them is good. Otherwise I eat leftovers from the night before...
ReplyDeletehmmm real estate agent siunds keen after the length time took to sellp/n house it would b so exciting to have an interested buyer even b4 it went on market
ReplyDeletefingers crossed
If it's any consolation, I have lost the same amount of weight-25 kg-in the same amount of time-4 months-by both low-fat diet eating carbs and by low-carb high-protein diet. First time was the low-fat diet, still having bread, spuds, rice, pasta and about half an hour of exercise a day. Second time on the low-carb, I never did any exercise, just 2 hours of cleaning every morning at my job. So it goes to show you can eat carbs and still lose weight. So when I get back on the "new year diet" after christmas, I will be doing the low-fat diet again! WOMBAT
ReplyDeleteCarbs are the easiest to burn, but they also turn to fat easiest.
ReplyDeleteI usually have a bowl of cereal for breakfast, then I may or may not have lunch. I eat a snack about 3 and dinner at 6ish. Sandwich's are great! No dirty dishes, no fuss no muss.
Chris loving your little coasters. Will have to get my mum to make some of these for me. Good luck with your house
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the Market hope you sell lots of wares. I can't believe you want to move, all the best. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove your coasters! When I have gone low carb, I had a pita stuffed with veggies and low fat chicken, and put a bit houmous inside...very tasty!
ReplyDeleteMicki
Hi Chris, I try to stick to low carb. Most days for lunch I have 4 vita-weat crackers with a small can of tuna. It fills me nicely. If I am a bit hungrier I will have some fruit with it.
ReplyDeleteRose :)
EAS low carb drink. hang in there.
