THE FLOOD...
ABOVE: Before the cleaning up man arrived.... not a pretty sight. The water went into the spare bedroom and Brylee's room, plus both linen cupboards...
ABOVE AND BELOW: blowers and dehumidifiers all over the house!
They will be left on for at least 36 hours... great. We are living in a very NOISY sauna now.
No plans for today. Can't go out ... must keep an eye on things .... *sigh...
Back later... Stew thinks he's found the problem with the washing machine... a loose drainage pipe in the back of the machine. We are doing a load in the machine now to see if we have fixed it.
As my computer is still in the linen cupboard, I will not be able to visit blogs for a couple of days... as it's incredibly HOT in here! Like a suana!
Going to buy a new router tomorrow, so I can get back on my main computer in the Family Room!
End of Day: we went out for lunch, had kebabs in the park down at Mission Bay. Teddy thought it was lovely getting out and about in the car. nite nite.
OHHHHH NOOOOOO!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat:-( We've had that happen with our old water bed, made a huge mess.
ReplyDeleteoh bugger
ReplyDeleteOH NO!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Chris,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got onto it quickly with the dryers and blowers etc. Looks as thought it is a big job.
Um, we had that happen to us once, but it was the hot water heater that blew out. I guess if you want to look on the bright side (if there is one!) - at least it was just the washing machine and not the sewer! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you and the family!
XOXO,
Cyndi
Sorry to hear about your flood. I can so identify with the dehumidifiers and fan heaters and the noise they made. We had some on loan for over 3 weeks when we had a flood just over a year ago.
ReplyDeleteWhat a major pain in the @ss. Hang in there Chris!
ReplyDeleteeekkk what a mess alright GREAT maybe book into a motel for 36 hours? theres a thought room service even.
ReplyDeleteBad luck Chris! I hate it when that happens, usually at the worst possible time. Hope things are sorting out. We have had internet problems this week too - frustrating. Hope the new router sorts it. Happy Easter!

Oh No!
ReplyDeleteThose fan heaters make everything so humid don't they. Hope you have fixed the leak :0)
Oh my stars..that's awful. That happened to me once when I was a teenager and I remember the fire dept. coming out to suck up all the water..haha. My parents were out of town and I panicked. hang in there kiddo.
ReplyDeleteOh my, you do have a mess. I hope you've got it cleaned up and the problem fixed and a stiff drink to help you forget about it.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's really bad! Hope you don't end up with rotting floor boards :o/
ReplyDeleteHope Stew found the problem with the washing machine, it sure made a mess ....!!!
ReplyDeleteHope tomorrow is a better day.
ReplyDeleteI hate floods. I used to flood the house every wash day, well once a month .. you know .... the part of the month when your brain goes AWOL. TWJ drilled holes in the floor. Didn't have humidifiers in those days. Now I really do sound as though I came out with the Ark.
Oh my God! There is nothing worse! Hope it all dries out soon x
ReplyDeleteWhat a pain in the neck! Hopefully, Stew has fixed the problem so it doesn't happen again! Good luck getting your computer back into the Family Room!
ReplyDeleteouch! that sucks :(
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your problems! Hope you have a nice weekend anyways.
