The Heat Pump comes today...
I am not going to freeze after today...
TODAY IS GUNNA BE GOOD! I am going to take lots of photos of the heat pump going in... HOW THRILLING is that gunna be for ya???
And sometime today I am going to do some sewing... cos tomorrow our grandson Joshua comes for the week... and I will be busy keeping 3 kids amused and not fighting all day long. Thrilling.
So, there ya go... that's it for now...
It's 9.10am, the heat pump installers were supposed to be here at 8.30am. I got up EARLY especially so I would not still be in me nightie and have no face on when they got here... and THEY ARE LATE! NOT a good start to the day. It's 10 degrees in my house right now... Brrrrrrr. God help them if they don't arrive at all...
I got the phone, ready to ring the installer and give them a blast.. and he arrived. TYPICAL.
So, it's going in....
The book: My Sister's Keeper, by Jodi Picoult... I loved it right up until the end... and the end? SUCKED. That's all I will say about that.
ONWARD...
ABOVE: Nick and the 'helpers'... getting ready....
ABOVE: shit! A hole in me house...
ABOVE: the 'sparky' on me roof! (Electrician)
ABOVE: the outdoor part being installed.
ABOVE: YES!!! All up and running... and it's already lifted the temperature in this room from 10 degrees to 20 degrees in like... 20 minutes! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!
Nick set the temperature for 22 degrees... it's now 24 in this room! And ummmm... I'm hot ! BLISSssss.
The kids and I just did a big grocery shop.... it all fitted in the back of ROXY just fine. And I feel fine driving her again...
Got home, SHIT A BRICK! It's too hot in the house! I have turned the heat pump down to 20 degrees! And it seems to be heating up much more of the house than just the family/kitchen rooms. SWEET!
End of Day: It's been a neat day! I'm warm again, this is huge! nite nite.
oh boy 10 degrees is pretty cold. Pad yer nips well or they may pop out and attack! Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteThose little blue furry warmers may be necessary undergarments....
My sisters keeper has just been made in to a movie due for release end of this month over here...cant wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteYay, love the new heap pump!! You will never regret it, it makes life so much easier to be at a lovely temperature. Don't forget about the summer too when it gets humid and hot, they are a life saver.
ReplyDeletethanks for commenting on my blog, and i agree: i loved My Sister's Keeper up until the crap ending.
ReplyDeleteaah, the bliss of a heater! as you read in my blog, they can be so rewarding!
ReplyDeletethanks for the comments on my site. next time I'll leave the lot of them at home! haha. actually it was a good learning experience for the dog, the cat, and the house, and we know what to expect next time. i did manage to house train the dog though, so always a plus in there somewhere!
enjoy your warm house, aaaahhhh....xxx
I've been wondering what the hell you have been meaning by a heat pump... now I get it!! I split system unit... I have 2 of these in my house, and don't like them much at all. Give me a gas heater anyday - or ducted heating and cooling
ReplyDeleteBut glad to hear that you are warmer now thatg it is all installed!!!
Miss LJ (I didn't sign out of my work google account - so you got Leanne instead)
I am really looking forward to reading that book as I seem to be reading a lot of duds lately ....hate crappy endings though.
ReplyDeletethanks for your messages (do you mind if I link to your blog?)
Left you a message about my sexy socks!
Would never be without my heat pumps. Bliss :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun for the last week of the holidays :)
I don't know how you have time to read with all that you do. You exhaust me just reading your blog!! Which btw I find your blog really interesting.
ReplyDeleteOur new heap pump we got installed last year is so efficient that we never set it on more than 18 degrees! We turn it to 16 overnight just to stop the house getting too cold.
ReplyDeleteI too was wondering what on earth a heat pump was - in our terms it's a reverse cycle split system air conditioner - tend to use the cooling a lot more than the heating - but some of these 'winter' nights we have it on for half an hour just to warm up the place. Enjoy Z xx
ReplyDeleteoops just realised that the post answering your sock thingie didn't post until now
ReplyDeleteyes I am a dumb dumb! Here tis:
(Hi Chris - they are compression socks - or sleeves - worn over the calf to improve oxygen delivery to muscles, speed lactic acid removal and stabilize the lower leg for greater muscle efficiency....yes I copied that from google, and its a bit of mumbo jumbo to me but all I know is they feel good and help when you have giant calves that are prone to injury like mine)
I deleted it from the post now....but linked to you
Wowee, that is fantastic! It's funny how now it's too hot. At least it works great!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the heat pump! Your house looks so neat, and it is nice that it warm now.
ReplyDeleteMicki
YEAH! The heat pump is in and you are warm! Or should I say - hot!
ReplyDeleteLucky you having a heat pump.... finally caught up with the blogworld :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat problem to have! House too warm in the winter!!
ReplyDeleteYou can always come to FNQ to warm up dear! It's about 25 out right now.....:-)
ReplyDeleteAnd in the evenings....we have 2 thin blankets and a thin doona-and I was actually sweating a bit last night LOL!
Hope you are well girl!
Glad the heat pump worked out for you. Several years ago there was a lot of talk about using a heat pump to pump heat out of the house during the summer instead of using the AC. I don't think it ever caught on over here in Oregon because I don't hear anyone talking heat pumps anymore.
ReplyDeleteI hated the end too.
