Today Stew and I will be having a quiet day.
Stew got almost everything crossed off his list of 'to dos' yesterday. And I certainly did.
So, no plans for today at all.
We will be looking after Marley today, as the kids are going on a day trip to the Bay of Plenty.
Coco will love having her sister come and stay for the day.
Perhaps we will take them both for a little walk down by the river? That will depend on how Stew's knee is feeling of course.
ABOVE: This hydrangea is one that was already here when we moved in. Isn't it just lovely. I hope to plant more over the next couple of years, both inside our gardens, and the gardens around our fence line as well. I have taken a couple of cutting from plants around here, just waiting for them to take root before I put them in a pot of soil, then they will go into the ground after the worst of the summer heat is over.
I'm pretty sure I've taken cuttings, and planted hydrangeas everywhere we have lived. 😊😉
ABOVE: We are starting to eat our cute little lettuces... well they are basically just leaves. I hope to get more lettuce plants, ones that are more 'traditional'. The ones I want next are called Iceberg lettuces.
Hmmm, maybe we will go out later and get some plants.
Right, I'm off to make a start on our day.
Catch ya later.
11 am:
ABOVE: We woke up to a light fog! It was so cool, it felt like winter. Well, almost winter.Very glad we didn't have to do a market today, even though the weather has warmed up now.
It would have been a cold start.
ABOVE: Until I get my big sewing machine back, I am going to work on getting a few runner lay outs done. I'm getting a couple of Fat Bottom Girls ones done today, maybe more. They take a while to sell, but they are great attention grabbers, and do eventually sell. We have none left.
Around lunchtime, we are going out to get a few things on our list, then we'll no doubt have lunch somewhere nice.
2.31 pm. We have been out and bought new lettuce plants, wood screws and isopropyl alcohol. We had lunch at Burger Fuel. It was average today as they had overcooked a lot of things.
Home. And AGAIN, I decided my clothes were NOT working on the rack in the sewing room!!!!
So we took the cubby unit out of the wardrobe, put the hanging rail back into it, and just rearranged a few things in our room. It didn't take much to accommodate the cubby unit in our already overcrowded room. *sigh*
ABOVE: Before the Christmas decorations/trees/Christmas Friends go up in the attic, I decided to go through them and get rid of some. I'm sad to say not many are leaving the house!
I like/love too many of them.
Stew said if I wasn't here, he'd not put anything out at Christmas. Boo.
Now... Stew is watching a movie on Netflix and I'm going to do NOTHING for a couple of hours.
TOO FUNNY!!! That Fat Lady Runner (now wall hanging) is already sold! And it's not even properly started yet. Now I just have to hope McDreamy gets back from Sewing Machine Hospital sooner rather than later.
ABOVE: The kids arrived to pick up Marley. I offered them the choice of any of the surplus Christmas decorations etc.
Then Steve and Bex put all our Christmas stuff back up in the attic for us!
That was our major job for tomorrow... and now it's done.
We would have struggled to do it in fact, so we are just so thankful to them.
We can truly relax now.
I wonder what we will do tomorrow now?
8 pm, and I'm done for the day. We did heaps today, quite a bit wasn't even on our agenda.
Pottering around the house and just enjoying being at home. I love it when we get things done 😊.
Catch ya tomorrow.

We had winter fog today and below freezing temps, which resulted in the most BEAUTIFUL flocked trees ever. As far as the eye could see - every tree was flocked white.
ReplyDeleteI didn't put out a single decoration this year, the first time ever—not even a wreath on the door (to pretend the house was decorated inside). It was lovely and I don't think I'll ever decorate again. I played Christmas music and have enjoyed other people's decorations but that's it :)
ReplyDeleteI didn’t put out anything for Christmas, no tree, it made me very sad. Family issues took the joy out of our Christmas this year. I am glad your Christmas was happy though.
DeleteFor a nothing day you managed a few things, could you build a conservatory area? And extend the outside bit to give a bit more space?
ReplyDeleteI can’t wait to pack up the Christmas tree and decorations but can’t do that till grandees get back from their Dads. Usually it’s done Boxing Day.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have children around! They're so helpful. But ours rarely want any of our treasures. Isn't it great to pack all that seasonal stuff away. I've cleared window ledges and the bookcase. Going going gone.....
ReplyDeleteThe hydrangeas are gorgeous. Ours usually last a couple of summers and then give up the ghost darn it. They're my favourite flowers
Had our family Christmas day today I'm exhausted still working on all the dishes. Mum has gone to bed and I'm just plodding through them I've been out and turned off the outside lights. Over next few days I'll pack away my Santa's as most of them are in the sun too much dnt want them fading. Will leave my trees up until my birthday next month. Want it all away before end of March/Easter. Back to the dishes
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a lovely Christmas with the people who are so loving and special to you.
