I have decided to be happy today.
Nothing that's going on 'in the background' can be changed by my mood, so let's have a good day.
The first thing I'm happy about...
ABOVE: When our shed became an issue for the neighbours, management bought some lovely big pittosporums. They were to form a hedge, so the neighbours couldn't see the shed. Clearly, that wasn't good enough for them.
Now the shed is gone, but we get to keep the trees, they will form a lovely privacy hedge FOR US. Win win.
By the end of today, the bathroom walls and ceiling will be ready for painting. Once I get that done, the rest of the room can get finished.
Shower and vanity in, rails up and so on.
I just hope I've made the right choices with colours, fittings etc. I've never done a total bathroom remodel before.
Let's get on with the day... the gib stopper is due around 8 am, and probably the bathroom reno guys as well.
I was given the time frame (finally) for the bathroom reno.
It should be done by Friday next week.
Then all we have to do is build the cupboard in the corner.
10.36 am: Whoop, a very productive morning.
The gib stopper has finished. The reno guy came and will put up the architraves etc. I can paint tomorrow.
I'm so happy with the curtains, and I only have one set to go. But I can't get into the spare bedroom to do them, so they can WAIT.
Lacy and Keera have arrived, and we are off to the supermarket and Mitre 10 together.
The bloke inside thought that was funny, so did I.
The two new Keter sheds.
I hope the next thing coming into my lounge is the new lounge suite. NOT due until the end of August, even beginning of September. Bummer.
But, good things take time.
ABOVE: I made us Kebabs for lunch, they were freakin' lovely. Keera and I had ours heated up in the sandwich press, while Lacy had hers cold.
And now the girls are gone, and it's just me and the bathroom reno guy, who's putting on the new skirting boards etc.
7.40 pm: I got some really good news from the Bathroom Reno guy this afternoon. More on that tomorrow.
After he left I had a nap, until Coco decided I'd rested enough by barking at me! Little tart.
I think I got about an hour.
Better than nothing I suppose. If I decide to try for a Nana Nap again, I'll be locking that little tart in the garage!
Stew arrived home, and we headed down to the pool complex. Stew did 20 minutes in the gym while I did lengths.
Then a nice soak in the hot tub, followed by a shower and hair wash.
Home, and now we are just chilling out till bedtime.
Catch ya tomorrow.
The shrubs on the outside of your fence are lovely. The fence is also great. Glad something positive came out of all that mess.
ReplyDeleteI am very pleased for you that your bathroom is progressing. I am sure it will be nice, practical, functional and easy to clean. Just make sure they put in handrails, etc for what you might need later.
Vickie
The trees will end up taller then the shed if you want a tall hedge lol lol. Have a very happy day. I am loving putting my ugly quilt together of my memories. Sending you smiles and sunshine, kj
ReplyDeleteI presume the gardening team in the village will keep them to the height of the fence so there shouldn't be a problem with the trees.
DeleteEnjoy your happy day 🩵
ReplyDeleteAre you getting any tiling done in the bathroom?
ReplyDeleteNope, none at all.
DeleteBut tiling in the shower of course I’m imaging. I can’t imagine a bathroom without tiling 🤷♀️. Looking forward to seeing it
DeleteNO, not even in the shower.
DeleteOh the curtains look fab!
ReplyDeleteYour ever changing lounge crack up as mate, hopefully by end of weekend more changes.
The blue curtains sure brighten up the area. Like night and day. Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't look like a kabob!
ReplyDeleteWhat is a kabob on your side of the planet?
That's a wrap!
Fitting, because tomorrow is a wrap on the film, and THAT is a wrap (sandwich).
Here a KEBAB is the same as a wrap, AND is is also meat etc on a long stick! No accounting for it, it is what it is.
DeleteHAHA. Interesting. A KABOB to me, is just meat on a stick. A wrap is a wrap. Speaking of! I just got home from our WRAP PARTY! My goodness! These folks can let it go when they want to have fun. Some great KARAKOE talent. I would NEVER... But, it was fun to support those that DO !
DeleteBlue curtains mega improvement you can get the strirage units built and stuff put in them, bathroom finished and it will then be great th8ngs happening with your home. Hugs for the rest. Xx
ReplyDeleteWhat is the deal with the dead, upside down, half tree?
ReplyDeleteNo idea! It looks terrible, and at some point I might ask about it.
DeleteThe lighter curtains (and of course blue) are much better. They definitely brighten up the room.
ReplyDeleteThe privacy bushes are fantastic. At least that was one good outcome for your place from the whole saga.
The blue curtains brighten up the room. Blue can be so calming. Now that the storage arrived you'll get your sewing room back. It sure seems everything is coming together. A pool & hot tub sound like a day at a spa. What great amenities your village has.
