LOOKS GOOD

I have not shown you the new headboard yet have I?
Well... I'm happy to say I love it, and it matches our wardrobe doors perfectly as well.
On the weekend, Stew is going to raise it up a bit.

ABOVE:  I have not sanded the patches yet, or painted that back wall.  I just can't be arsed right now.

This morning I am going over to Cambridge for mosaics. After that I have a lunch meeting, before coming home.

ABOVE:  While I'm out, we have a painter coming in to do ... THE BATHROOM!  It's all ready for painting.
I managed to find a painter via the bathroom Renovation Company.  I'm so happy I don't have to do it now.
I don't think my arms would have forgiven me somehow. 😃😂😅

1.40 pm:  HI.   I've had a lovely morning doing mosaics, then going to a friend's birthday lunch.  It was a surprise for her, so even nicer.

ABOVE:  I got quite a bit done on my mosaic rock today... I will possibly finish it next week.
Then it will be on to my next project.
The painter is still here, putting on the sealer, and filling all the little nail holes in the skirting boards etc.
Tomorrow he will be putting the coloured paint on the wall.  I'm excited to see that happen.
Once he's done tomorrow, we have a 3 day break from having tradies here.  THAT will be wonderful.  Much as I appreciate them being here working... I miss my privacy.
I am now going to make myself a kebab for a late lunch, as I didn't have anything to eat at the birthday luncheon.

ABOVE: All the sealer is on, and he's done the white skirtings etc, and now he's almost finished the ceiling.  Then he will go home, and come back tomorrow to put the wall paint on.
Where the shower liner goes is staying green/gib board only, so the liner can adhere to the wall there. If it was painted, the glue would not work and hold the liner on.
I am surprised how much work is involved in just this little room!
If I'd done it, we would still be doing it next week!
It's bloody awful outside, just so wet and miserable. But not stormy.  Hopefully it doesn't get any worse, some parts of New Zealand have been hammered by bad weather already, and sure in hell don't need any more.
I spoke too soon. It's now 6.15 pm, and it's fair pissing down. I drove to Steve n Bexs after dropping Stew at the pub. The roads are already flooded in places. My driveway is like a river. What fun.

8.20 pm:  Just in from the pub and visiting the kids.  A very nice evening.  It has stopped raining for now, thank goodness.
Time to relax and later on, watch Coronation Street.
Catch ya tomorrow.

I really like the new headboard, nice clean lines. The simplicity of it is really rich looking. I like the white spread with it.

Love the cow watching over you at night hmm 😒 so pleased you've got someone else to paint it. You need a break. There'll always be a next time. I love the green in bathroom now is that the colour of the gib board? Have a great day. Kj

Good idea getting a painter to do bathroom. Then you can paint rest of house whenever you like.

  8. That will be nice a break from extra people noise smells.

Love the bedroom headboard love the cow theme.

The dying tree yes it is hideous and there needs to be more trees to finish the fenceline it looks disjointed and coupled with dead tree the aesthetics would just ruin your retirement!😂

    1. I like how you think! Dead tree might be lovely once it's leaves grow again... time will tell.

Looks like a dormant weeping tree to me. Imagine leaves will reappear in the spring and be beautiful

Why not have the painter do the rest of the house properly?

Hey there, Chris! I totally love your new headboard. I haven't had one in over 15 years; I just have a pile of pillows I set up to hide the fact I don't have headboard. I've gotten used to not having one anyways. That said, oh I love those cow pillows (I have several cow items too in my dining room - I just love them) AND totally in love with your Cow canvas in bedroom too. Here in the states we are getting ready for our 4th of July holiday and I will have 2 extra days off (Mon & Tues) though Tues my extensive dental treatment plan starts ; months and months of work, ending in getting an upper and lower partials. Yikes. And it is costing a pretty penny that's for sure. I have 2 pictures I want to frame up while off [one of St Michael Archangel, who my son always told people I had named him for and he considered St Michael his patron saint though he was NOT catholic, but rather methodist] and my son had a gorgeous silver ring with saint on it, and other medals, etc for St Michael and I want to change out the top of my bedroom bookcases and put that print out with a small pic of Mike and the medals/ring. I plan to watch couple DVDs I got from library and maybe take a nap or two and maybe some reading will be completed too. Holiday / Vacation time off from work when I miss my Mike SO MUCH as we always made special plans for our time together then and I would keep a day of my time off to stay home and chill but the rest would always be spent with Mike [though every weekend always hard too because we did stuff all weekend long together - he was my best buddy and shopping companion]. I've rambled on enough. Take care and I KNOW you will be so glad to have your home finally in order. Dawn P. Albany, GA USA
