Dare I think I can get to Mosaics today?
I'm gunna try.
I also have a painting to drop off, that I'm gifting to a girlfriend. It's of Cambridge, but too big for any wall space left here.
I am getting a friend who's an artist to paint us a smaller 'Cambridge' painting, for our 'We Have Lived Here' wall.
I LOVE THE SUNSHINE, but in my face, in the kitchen when I'm working in there? NOT AT ALL.
So late yesterday I took myself off to Spotlight and bought a blind.
ABOVE: I'm leaving the instal up to Stew. I'm trying to do nothing that involves my arms having to be raised! They are slowly forgiving me for all the lifting/unpacking I did during our move. Thank goodness.
Right ... time to go. I can squeeze a couple of jobs in before I head off to Cambridge.
Pffft. To quiet.
Anyway... I did indeed get to Mosaics, where I managed to get a few more pieces on my project:
ABOVE: I anticipate it being finished in a couple more weeks. These things take time. Along with the yakking. And we had a bloke call in selling his Mum's mosaic supplies as well. I got a few more bits 'n' bobs.
Then I dropped off the painting, and came home.
I am about to go out again, to get another Ryobi Battery Operated Lamp. For tomorrow's market.
More on that tomorrow.
1.45 pm: just back from Bunnings, where I bought our 2nd Ryobi Lamp. Geeeeeez, that was not cheap. I hope I sell a bit at tomorrow's market to off set those $'s spent.
Now... cos I can, I'm gunna lie on me bed with a heat pod and get warm... might even take a nap.
Yeah nah. No nap. Got visited by Management again. I will update about that on PEPSI later on. Right now I'm visiting the kids and Stew is at the pub.
PEPSI is a private blog. I am not adding anyone else to it sorry.
It has started raining, so tomorrow's market is now in question. I am sure we will be notified tomorrow if it is cancelled. I don't mind either way, I'm a bit over shit at the moment. Tired and crabby.
Morning chick I keep meaning to ask how are the new owners getting along in the
ReplyDeleteOld house? Another cold morning
But the days are super sunny about 15-17 degrees which is cold for Sydney.
I have a few weeks every year where the sun is brutal in the back windows. As soon as the trees are leafed out, same windows are in shade. Kitchen window, I just suffer temporarily. Living room window has a big shade.
ReplyDeleteVickie
I'm here. It's freezing here today. Need some slippers but all the ones I've looked at are too small so will get some large mens socks size 11 next time I dare to go out. Love your mosaic thingy. Would love to try that one day. Kj
ReplyDeleteQuick hi

They’re special
Cheers 🥂
Where is the market tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteIt is the Matariki Celebration, being held at Innes Common (Hamilton Lake), from 3 - 7 pm. There are about two dozen stalls, food stalls, and entertainment. I've not been before, so it will be interesting to see how it goes. Can't hurt to try it, we were invited to attend by the HCC.
DeleteThanks - we are travelling around but not in Hamilton:)
DeleteRug up hot thermos can you heat hot pods there? For hands down back of trousers or for feet even that be novel .
ReplyDeleteHope you got a nap. Have had my brother visit today so that very loud. Mum has gone for her afternoon snooze. So I'm enjoying the quiet should be making cards but tired eyes.
ReplyDeleteOMG how do I access Diet Pepsi 🤷♀️
ReplyDeleteTotally understand and respect that Chris. Great you have a private outlet to release what you want to, to who you are comfortable with. 💕💕
DeleteKiwionholidays has left a new comment on your post "MOSAICS":

Sorry chick, I hit DELETE by mistake. Have copied and pasted your comment.
DeleteI live in a neighborhood with lots of rules and with a board that oversees everything in yards and on the outside of houses. Any changes outside, have to have approval first. So repainting a door the same color - fine. Painting a front door a different color - approval required.
ReplyDeleteThe houses directly on the golf course are under especially tight rules. I am in the woods where it is slightly less strict. Like I could have a fence if it was the right type and approved in advance.
We understood when we built our house and moved in (20+ years ago) and appreciate that the yards and houses are in great shape and everything is upscale. We like the rules.
I am a quilter and artistic. I am also an avid gardener. I have to be very careful with my colors outside.
Outside the name of the game for me is blending. Even my flower colors blend in with the house and the yard.
I walk the dogs many times a day. A few weeks ago I was talking to a woman a few streets away, she has a lovely garden I have always admired. She is on the golf course, she has to be very careful with things in her garden and yard.
I mentioned to her I have three metal bird sculptures in my side yard. They are grouped together. The largest is about 4’. She was surprised, I said - no one knows they are there. I chose very very carefully. They totally blend in with the trees. My neighbors cannot see them. Cannot see them from the street. They are there, I can see and enjoy them, but they are invisible to everyone else.
I have three 18” frog statues in one of my front beds, ditto, they totally blend, cannot see them unless you are a few feet from them. They are out spring/summer/fall, blending with the greenery, they go in the garage all winter.
I have bird houses, they blend also. I am very careful where I put them.
I have window boxes and planters and pots, all blending colors, that recede into the background. People see the flowers, but the pots are very subtle. The flowers are soft colors. I have trellises all over the yard, again they blend, people see the gentle color flowers but not the metal or wood.
No sheds of any kind are allowed. Our garbage bins are to be in the garage. We have one outside that is behind tall bushes and totally invisible. The bushes are full and green year round. That can is handy for me - gardening and dog poop. So we hide the one for easy access, the other two bins are in the garage.
Our lots are very large. In a small community, right on top of each other, my birds would have go. The small frogs would probably be okay in a full flower bed. My pots and trellises, on a much smaller scale, would probably be okay if I was very careful where I placed things and my flower colors.
We have had people move in the neighborhood who did not understand, even though they could see everyone else’s yards and houses and had been told the rules. They thought they understood, but they did not. These were people that needed to be in a different kind of neighborhood or out in the country. They have to conform or move.
It is very difficult for everyone when this happens. The new people feel picked on and defense. The existing neighbors do not appreciate having any issues with a new neighbor. It is annoying for the whole street. It gets the new people off to a very rough start. If they do not apologize and conform quickly, feelings linger.
I am sorry you are having a tough time. I am sure it is very upsetting. These kinds of neighborhoods are definitely not for everyone.
Our old neighborhood was much less strict. We built and lived there for 15 years. We moved to a more strict neighborhood on purpose. It is a better fit for us. I do well with my neighbors. My flower beds are beautiful. I still feel artistic. But in a more refined way.
Vickie
I wonder just how long till you decide to move to a less strict neighbourhood. I could not stand the rules. I hope things get sorted out for you soon. It sounds like someone is picking on you. Gigi
ReplyDeleteYou had another busy day, girl! I understand your private blog (though it is just killing me wondering what is going on with the 'management' at your new home's location !!! - I can only guess it is something like a 'homeowners association/HOA' they have here in the USA that is basically a nightmare and I will NEVER EVER live in a place that has one). Love the pics you posted on FB of your new home. I so love your wall art choices, always have done. I know once you get new living room suite you will be in high cotton as we say around these parts (in SW Georgia USA) Dawn P. Albany, GA USA
ReplyDeleteHey There, Just a quick hello a day late. I'm still working on set for 12+ hours a day and it is seriously affecting my commenting habits! Sorry about that!
ReplyDeleteMy parents moved into an over 55 neighborhood and the trouble started almost immediately. All the old retirees, with time on their hands and nothing else to do, set about complaining about every single little damn thing, right out the gate. Nosy neighbors gossiping and instigating. My mum told my dad that she thought they'd made a mistake moving into the townhouse they moved into - it came with a bunch of rules and nasty people who behaved as if being nasty was their second job. My mum insisted they move after only 6 months, she couldn't stand it any longer. I hope that doesn't happen to you guys.
ReplyDeleteI hope that doesn't happen. I am already regretting this move.
