GETTING SORTED FOR TOMORROW

Tomorrow we are heading up to Auckland to attend the funeral of my cousin's husband.
Not looking forward to it at all.
He was just a young man, but sadly he was very troubled.

My Aunt and Uncle have come over from Canada, as have his parents and brothers.  Such a long way to come for such a sad reason.

So, while I am dreading the funeral, it will be wonderful to see my Aunty Laura and Uncle Rex again.  We have not seen them in a few years.

I need to sort out something to wear, it's so difficult at this time of year.  It could be hot as buggery, or quite cold.  And I don't actually have many 'formal' clothes.   I loathe trying to find clothes to wear, never mind footwear to match!

Oh well, I will just have to do the best I can.  I'll probably be in my wardrobe for a bloody hour.

On to happier things...SNEAK PEEK:

ABOVE:  I went out on a limb and tried a different colour combination for my next owl mobile.
It should be finished mid-morning... then I can show you.

I will make one more after this one, and then call it quits.  I have plenty of stock for Sunday's market!

Right, I'm off to start the day, and find something to bloody wear tomorrow!

ONWARD...

First up since this morning early, I've sold the pink owl mobile!  Just like that, over my Facebook page!  Rather happy with that... only it means I now have to make at least two more by Sunday!

Right, here's the latest one:

ABOVE:  Dare I say it?  My favourite so far.
Now, I have to pop into town to find out postage for the pink one, it's off to Tauranga.

12.36 pm:  Been to town, home again, contemplating lunch.  Lots buzzing around in my head today.
My Mum is having a medical procedure over in Australia RIGHT NOW... and all going well she will be PAIN FREE for the first time in over a year!

It's also the 34th Anniversary of my elder brother's death today.  So feeling lots of emotions in light of everything else going on.

Life eh?  Always something rocking the apple cart.

'Normally' by now I'd have gone downtown and bought myself some sort of evil cake... probably a custard slice from Frans!  OMG I miss them.
But, I will have something good for me and then distract myself with some more sewing.

Well... heard from Aussy.  My Mum's procedure was only partly done today, the specialists decided they could do more than they anticipated, so she is going back tomorrow for a double whammy procedure that should solve two problems, instead of only one.  This is excellent news, even though it means Mum has to have more done tomorrow.

I'm feeling like death warmed up this afternoon.  Don't know why.  Just tired and groggy, got a headache too.  Grrrr. Sick of being off par.  Got the weird tingling thing going on in the body again too!  Lack of carbs/sugar????
Hmmmm.

Fed the family roast beef and veges tonight.  The smell of that meat cooking nearly turned my stomach over!  So awful.
I doubt they are going to get roast beef again in a while!

Time to wind down for the day and just relax for a while.  Long day tomorrow.

We lost a brother in law yesterday, unfortunately I don’t think we will make it to the funeral. At least he went in his sleep.

  3. Wow, you have a lot to think about right now. I'm so sorry about your family member, especially to hear that he was troubled. I hope your day helps you work out some feelings about everything and that your mother's procedure goes well.

    Hugs xo

If it's what I think it is sometimes life treats people cruel blows with very little comfort and the not knowing or not seeing the signs. I sympathize deeply as I have been there recently myself George's Mum xx

  8. The tingling could be low blood sugar....i always get tingly lips and arms when my BS is dropping too low. Which reminds me do you have anything to treat a low to hand if you have one - ie glucose tablets, a handful of jellybeans. I buy these little gel sachet things as you can slip one in your purse - one called Horleys replace gel (that you buy from countdown) and another called GU Energy Gel (which you buy from Torpedo 7) definitely pays to keep something on hand as low blood sugar is dangerous! 9. Just a thought about how you are feeling.- your Metformin might be too high now for your lower carb eating? Perhaps you need to review that.

  10. Adoing to what Lynda said, the 'carb flu' is very common when you go low carb. Google it & see if the symptoms match! I'm proud of how well you're doing BTW ☺
