OH MY GOD...

Friday afternoon, getting Keera undressed and into her pyjamas... I noticed a HUGE bruise on her tummy!

ABOVE:  Left: her tummy on Friday afternoon... and Right: more bruising coming out, even on her hips on Saturday.

I asked her how it happened?

She said she fell over onto a rock at Kindergarten on THURSDAY, and the teacher put an ice pack on it.

Now... anyone HERE with preschool children knows that if they have an accident at kindy or preschool, no matter how big or small, it has to be reported to the parents.  And an 'Incident' form has to be filled out by the teacher involved, and signed by the parent/guardian too.

That sure in hell didn't happen on Thursday when I picked her up!  No mention of it at all. (I didn't see it on Thursday, so am thinking Keera may have her days muddled up)

So, I will be asking why I was not informed of her accident on Monday morning, that's for sure.

Anything could have happened ... what if she had gotten sick from internal injuries?  I would have had no idea what happened, how she got hurt etc.  I'm actually really angry about this.

So, it's Sunday today and we have a few little jobs around the house.  It is supposed to rain today!  Can't imagine it right now.

ONWARD...

I've spent my morning sorting out my sewing room!  I mean hours and hours!
I had NO IDEA just how disorganised and untidy it had got in the past few months.
Utter mess.  And I don't DO mess.

So, it's now 1.41 pm and it's finally done and I can start working on UFO's again.

I'm NOT starting any more new projects till I've got heaps of UFO's finished.

ABOVE:  While I was busy... so was Keera.
She's in her tent... she has an amazing ability to play happily for hours on her own!  She's just so  happy here.  Makes me glad we have her.

And it's the end of the day... and it's been an excellent day I must say.  I got  the binding on 6 mug rugs, ready for the hand sewing to be done on Monday night at Patchwork.
I also got the quilting and binding done on a UFO that's been on the go for a couple of years AT LEAST!

I will show you which one tomorrow.

And now... I'm off to bed.

I work in a childcare center here in Australis and even if the child falls over we have to write a incident form, ring the parents (just to let them know) and watch the child closely all day and document any changes in behaviour etc I am appalled that it wasn't documented, don't blame you for being upset.

  10. Ouch! That must have hurt for Keera. I'm surprised she didn't mention it to you earlier - she's obviously a tough wee cookie. The kindy definitely should have alerted you to the accident at the time. I hope you get a good response from them when you talk to them about it. I love her little "hut" that she has set up - very creatively done.
