TRASH AND TREASURE

Today is the local, (monthly), Trash and Treasure market down here in Cambridge.

We are going as Stew saw something there last time that could be useful to shield the rubbish bins from the road.

And it's always nice to check out whats available right before Christmas.

After that we will take Lacy back to Hamilton and then come home and do who knows what?

I still have to wrap presents... that's one job I'm struggling to get motivated about.  I loathe wrapping presents, and I suck at it too.

ABOVE:  Hamilton Gardens yesterday.  The view from our lunch table.  Beautiful.

OK... time to move.  I want to get down to the market fairly early so it's not too busy.

ONWARD...

Well Stew and I got down to the market bright early.
In reality we probably should have stayed home.

It was wet and cold, and the stalls were just the same ones that are there every month.  Nothing new or very interesting at all.
That was a bit sad. The one thing we were interested in turned out to be unsuitable after all too.

I did manage to find a couple of things:

ABOVE:  A dear wee sewing machine ornament.
$1.

ABOVE:  a Christmas ornament.  Forgot to mention, his eyes wiggle!  Too cute.

ABOVE: Then we found a little gift shop that sells a small amount of Britto.  So we bought a little 'smile'.

Since coming home from the market, Lacy has been returned to Hamilton, we've had lunch and now I'm parked in front of the computer watching a Trademe auction.

I'm trying to buy a metal jungle gym for the little kids to play on.  Fingers crossed I get it.  It closes later on this afternoon...

ABOVE:  I WON IT!

It doesn't look much right now, but I plan on adding a swing to one end, and a climbing wall, and maybe even a slide.
It should last forever, and be great for the grandkids to play on.  I'm really happy *smiles*.

Time to sign off for the day.  It's been a fairly nice weekend, but I'm looking forward to the week ahead... one more week of Kindy for Keera, two days of school for Griffin and two weeks work for Stew, then it's holidays for everyone.

Well.. not me.  My week doesn't change much... housework never sleeps.
