So... what did we get yesterday, aside from the little fish bowl?

ABOVE:  new beds for the dogs!  We saw them and just could not resist them!  They are actually cat beds, but well... we won't tell the girls that.  *smiles*

ABOVE:  We wanted additional storage in our bathroom, so found this tall wooden unit at Early Settler... it was half price.  Too good to pass it up.

Question?  I'm tempted to paint it white.  What do you think?  Paint it, or leave it.  I'm just not sure.

ABOVE: The new umbrella in use.  It's tilt ability is what sold it to me.  I can now block out the sun when it's really low in the sky.

It means sitting outdoors is going to be very enjoyable.

ABOVE:  More surprises coming up in the garden.  There seems to be quite a few of these lillies dotted around the property... even in the lawns!  Very pretty.

And that's all I have for now.

We are heading back into Hamilton this morning to return the Christmas Lights I bought the other day.  The shop assistant has given me the wrong colour lights.  So, should be able to swap them no problem ... I hope.

ONWARD...  5.14 pm: and clearly I've been busy today!

I went into town and swapped the lights.  I  had to get multi coloured lights at the end of the day as they didn't have linking bright white ones, which is what I really wanted.  Never mind, the coloured ones are pretty too.

While I was out, Stew went to Mitre 10 and got a few things he needed to finish a job in the garage.

Then he trimmed our side of the hedges with his new hedge trimmer.  It did a good job:

ABOVE:  The trimmed hedges make the yard look bigger I reckon.

ABOVE:  Tweeking the gardens a bit... and so happy with how they are looking.  Bex... look at our lettuces!

ABOVE:  This feijoa tree was already here, and it's going to have a bumper crop of fruit this season!

I can't believe how HAPPY I feel about our new garden and home!  Everything is PERFECT.

Brylee and I got the Christmas tree in the lounge decorated finally, but I will hold off showing you till tomorrow, so I have something to put on the blog! lol

I haven't had time to think about the bathroom unit yet, but I WILL be painting it.  Maybe tomorrow?

I have roast pork in the oven, it's smelling wonderful!  Time to get the veges on.

Dinner was delicious!  You really can't beat roast pork.
Quiet evening... everyone's tired.  Off to bed shortly.

  1. I would definitely paint the cabinet. Love the dog/ cat beds too.

  2. Anonymous8:34 AM

Paint it in that effect you did your cabinet you had in old place in archgola area? that white distressed look or you could have bought a white cabinet? lol that umbrella is huge BUT those dog/cat beds are neat and funky. It's me Blondie

  3. Paint it white or match it to the sink unit base or top.
    Helen ( still) in France

  4. I'm with the others, paint the cabinet, white ?, it's too dark for the room as it is.
Two comments in to days !
    Love the new umbrella !

  5. Definitely paint the cabinet, looks a bit dark for that room. Those dog beds are awesome!

  6. Yep paint for sure... love the dog beds! They are so groovy!

  7. My opinion? I think the cabinet is wrong for the bathroom and would look lovely somewhere else. There are lots of lovely purpose built bathroom cabinets that would match better. It seems such a shame to have to paint that one but yes, if you do keep it in the bathroom I think it should be white :)

  8. I think the cabinet needs to be white - or the same colour as the vanity unit :)

  9. Love the beds for the dogs.
The cupboard, I am in 2 minds about it being fits in the space well, and even thou it doesn't match with everything in there with a bit of your decorating I think it will

  10. I love the cabinet but not sure it suits the bathroom, if you keep it in there I think it needs to be painted and the handles changed to similar ones to the bathroom cabinet. Having said that, my place is a mess and nothing really matches so I am probably the worst person to give advice :-).

Hope it was not you guys who accidentally drove through a cafe window in Cambridge!!

    1. No.... my own letterbox and a few years ago my garage door are more my speed! Ha ha ha

  11. Love the way your new home is coming together. It looks so cozy and bright. For what my opinion is worth, I think I would paint the cabinet white or grey. That way it will blend in and look like it has always been there.

  12. I would say white...everything looking great.

  13. The dog beds are darling! And they both figured out how to use them already. Paint the cabinet white. I would not have even thought of it, but now that you mention it, I think you will like it better. And maybe you can "cute-ify" it like you have to other things.... Like the cabinets in your old home, your grand daughter's bed, and wasn't ther something you made "distressed" at one point?

  14. Maybe paint the dog beds white too, while you are at it! I think they are darling as is.... But you really do have a way with things!

  15. Wow the lettices have grown heaps ☺ in time for summer salads πŸŒ±πŸŒ±πŸ“πŸ“πŸ…πŸ… how are the tomatoes and strawberry patch going. Dantes not happy coz we havnt had a strawberry for a while. I suprise him with brought ones in his lunch 😊

    1. PLENTY OF STRAWBERRIES HERE, well enough for Keera to have one a day. Tomatoes nowhere near weeks till we get tomatoes. We still buy strawberries cos we all love them.

  16. The dog beds! So cute!
