HAVING FUN WITH THE FITBIT

Today I plan on having some fun with the Fitbit.
I'm going to get on me treadmill and see how long it takes to clock up a thousand steps.

My goal for the next week or so is to get myself up to 5,000 steps a day.  It's only half the desirable number of 10,000 steps a day, but hell!  It's going to be about 4,000 more than I've been doing lately!

I'm not sure I will use the 'Food' tracker, it's in calories and I don't 'do' calories.  I track WW's Pro Points.  Well... I do when I'm tracking that is.
Of course, I ain't been tracking much lately either.  Funny that.

So that's me plans for today.  Slowly get back into some exercise, use the Fitbit for motivation and work towards a good loss for next week.
I can actually feel the difference now, I've lost 11.1 kilos since I started again at WW.
It's been SLOW... but steady and that makes me happy.

ONWARD...

11.57 am: Dammit!
I walked for 10 minutes BRISKLY on the treadmill, then I went to Sylvia Park and walked up and down it's length too... got me hair washed and dried at JustCuts... met up with Bex and the boys for a little while there too.

Got home, synched the Fitbit.   According to it I've taken 436 steps TODAY.  Now that just ain't right!
I'm starting to get annoyed already.  Something ain't right.  Just feel like taking the bloody thing back now.

12.32 pm: Just deleted the walk I did on the treadmill in 'Activities'... and that must have sorted it cos now the damn thing says I've done 3,640 steps.
*sigh*

Now all I need to do is about another 2,000 to get to my mini goal.

5.20 pm:   I didn't say much about my visit to JustCuts today did I?
Well on my way to Sylvia Park this morning I was listening to a guy on the radio who said he got his hair washed and dried twice a week in a salon.  I was like, really?  Why would you do that?
Then I thought about it and decided to see how much it would cost, cos seriously, I really don't feel up to washing and drying my mop of hair at all right now!

So... it cost me $12 to have it washed and dried.  What a bargain!  And the hairdresser gave me the most lovely head massage too... for nothing!  I do believe I might be doing that EVERY WEEK from now on!   $12 for pure indulgence... WHY NOT?   I'm sure thousands of people spend more than that a week on coffee!  I don't drink coffee do I?  *smiles*

It's takeaway night.... yaaaa.  I don't have to cook.  Stew's choosing our meal tonight.

End of Day:  a good day really.   I didn't get to 5,000 steps today, but it was close.
nite nite

  1. I am pretty sure you can get your fitbit steps to send data to weight watchers tracker app and it will tell you your bonus points for exercise.

  2. You can become fitbit friends with people and see each others steps. It makes you want to do a few more steps to beat your friends! I'm friends with my husband and 2 other friends.

  4. Re your steps, the steps should read true on the fitbit itself, but sometimes you may have to sync it more than once to your phone or computer!

  9. My wife has an app on her phone that measures her steps, she usually does 4000-5000 per day. In Canada, she was doing 13000-14000 a day! maybe you could temproarily install an app to test the fitbit!

  10. I would love, love, love to get my hair washed and dried once or twice a week by someone! Mine is nowhere near as long as yours, but still a hassle. And your right about the money. It's a luxury, but not a huge expense. Awesome on the steps!!! That's got to feel good!
