**FIREWORKS**

So, because we do everything first in the world... last night it was Guy Fawkes night.
And I found the right setting on me camera to get some good photos, so you poor buggers get to see them!

Without further ado...

ABOVE:  Bex and Dante watched from inside the house, better safe than sorry.

The following 5 photos I took were of fireworks in the sky quite a long way away from our house, but they came up brilliantly!...

ABOVE: I was amazed at how well they showed up, the blurring of the flares ... awesome!

ABOVE:  a few of our simpler fireworks... still lovely.

 ABOVE:  fun with sparklers.
And my favourite photo of the night:

ABOVE:  a HEART made with Steve working two sparklers together.  I don't think he was even trying to do that.

So... I'm rapt my camera took such neat photos.

Today?  Off to Spotlight, supermarket, post office etc with Bex.  I've got a few things to get and so does she.

Then home to finally do the stitching lines on my Mariner's Star freezer paper pattern.  I really should have done it already, but I got carried away with housework all week!

ONWARD...

So, I changed my mind and didn't go out afterall.   Bex did though.
It's COLD today, I'm sitting at my computer wrapped in a blanket, with socks and slippers on!
The sun is shining so maybe I'm just being a sookie la la?

I asked Griffin to hang some washing out for me yesterday afternoon:

ABOVE:  Now, either Griffin has completely forgotten the lessons I've given him on how to peg out the washing, or he's one lazy little bugger!   I'm leaning towards the latter.

ABOVE:  My sleeping baby, who hasn't pooped on the floor today...  YET.  *sigh*

Been reading blogs.  Man it doesn't' take so long now that I've culled so many off my reading list I must say.

Now... time to do a couple of jobs in the house, cos housework never ends.  Yep... we all know this.

TEDDY:  anyone want a dog that does not like babies/toddlers?  He's just bitten Dante on the hand, broke the skin even.   I have always said if Teddy bit a kid he had to go.
So.  Who wants him?
If he's not re-homed I will be taking him to the vet for a one way trip.  I WILL NOT keep a dog that bites any kid.  FULL STOP. END OF STORY.

BELLA: Teddy was lying on the couch, Dante stood in front of him with his hand on the couch NEAR Teddy and Teddy just up and bit him!  So, Dante did not provoke or hurt the dog at all.

So... it looks like Teddy is leaving us.  One way or another.

Update on Teddy:  looked like we had a new home for him, but it's fallen through I think.  Teddy doesn't like cats either, so a home without small kids or cats is what we need!

End of Day:  Well, it could have gone better I must say.  Just feeling sad and flat now, and not just about Teddy.
nite nite

I am told it is quicker.......maybe for hanging but not for drying!!! Fireworks are banned here too but some of the locals always get some on New Years Eve

  7. Your photos of the fireworks are outstanding. A few would make great framed photos to hang on a wall.

  10. Giggling at Griffin's pegging efforts. You have to choose whether you chip him for doing it wrong or be grateful he did it at all. Tough choice sometimes!

    1. I don't really care how the washing is hung out! I might point out to Griffin how things might dry quicker if hung out a bit better though. *smiles*

  11. What led up to Teddy biting Dante? I'm sure something happened to cause it.

  13. Poor wee Teddy, that he will lose his home, his family and possibly his life. So very sad. You know I believe that little kids need to learn that some dogs are not friendly and shouldn't be touched. But a new home for Teddy might be the best idea, just incase Dante learns to hit animals in retaliation.

    1. It's a bit hard to teach a toddler that a dog he has grown up with is not FRIENDLY... cos sometimes he and Teddy seem to get along really well. I have tried locking Teddy in a different part of the house when Dante is up, but it's just not fair or possible to separate them all the time. I am petrified Teddy will bite him on the face one day, and that will be MY FAULT, because I know Teddy is not tolerant of Dante at the best of times. Today was the last straw, as Teddy had snapped at Dante many, many times before and I can't let this happen again. Also, we have Keera coming to visit on and off, and there is ANOTHER baby on it's way to live here too. It's time I did what has to be done. Either way is going to hurt.

  14. Chris please don't overreact. Just keep Teddy in the downstairs or other rooms of the house. It is a lot fairer to Teddy than killing him. Being a savage dog and attacking is very different to snapping like the bite he gave Dante. Please seek other advice from a vet or behaviourist before ending that little dog's life. Please.

    1. He is not going to die. He is going to a new family, one without kids at all. So relieved.

    2. First offer has fallen through by the look of it, the lady has a cat ... and Teddy doesn't like cats the same as he doesn't like small kids! so... we continue to seek a new home for him.

    1. So what would your reaction be if Teddy bit Dante on the face ? Nice to see you were nice enough to put your name to your post.

I hate to react to someone who is clearly trolling, but I really can not for a moment see Chris or the rest of her family let Coco get away with biting children just because she can breed. Really?

  20. Fireworks look amazing great photos, I am sorry to read of Teddy needing a new home fingers crossed he finds one soon. With a new baby on the way perhaps a blessing in disguise.

  21. I know that you have always said you will not keep a dog that bites and I admire you sticking to that Chris I just hope that you are able to find a new home quickly for him.

    Hi

I agree with you Chris, however hard it is for everyone, animals can be unexpected and it is always better to be safe than sorry...Teddy needs a nice quiet place to relax where he is also happy, and I am sure that will happen.

    Take care

  23. Those are some of the best fireworks photos ever!
I don't think we've been taught how to peg out the laundry properly.. Have we?

  24. Even though he is small a bite from Teddy will do damage. I know it is hard but you can't have any kid that is in you home in danger of being bitten.

Of course you are doing the right thing with Teddy. I am truly surprised that he has not been snatched up already - he will be a perfect dog for someone. He will find a great home and the new people will be so thankful, and you will not have to worry about the safety of the kids in your own home.I am sure it will be a lot less stressful - even if you don't realize there is stress right now. Good luck to Teddy. He will be a perfectly adoptable dog to the right childless and catless family.

  26. I think a lot of dogs don't like cats until they get used to them. He's small enough I think a cat could hold it's own. Usually just takes a week or so for everyone to get along.

Rusty makes me nervous around kids too. Sometimes he does a running nip type thing. We don't have kids over very often but I usually put him away when they visit.
