HOSPICE THIS AFTERNOON

Plans for the day?

This morning, the usual housework, and hopefully some blog reading!
It's becoming a once a month thing!

Too much life to be lived, so blog reading is missing out!

I spent quite a bit of time last night mucking around with cameral settings. Still totally in the dark!
I might have to devote an entire day to watching the DVD that came with my camera, to learn a bit more.  The bloody thing is worse than a computer! ISO, Exposure, Multi shots, Flash, Focus... shit the things to learn about.

And let's not forget, sometime this week my new sewing machine is arriving, and then it will be all about learning how to use it too!

It's got a touch screen for changing stitches, sizes, widths yadda, yadda, bla bla bla.

MINDBOGGLING.

I need more buggers to photograph!  Right now it's just them in this house who get the paparazzi treatment!

Brylee spent most of yesterday in bed, sore tummy... but didn't get sick properly.  I think she did the right thing.  When I was feeling dreadful, lying down sure helped.

Anyway... here's a cute collage from last night:

 ABOVE:  happy days.

I popped onto Facebook quickly last night, and came across these gorgeous toys...

LINK: https://www.facebook.com/cocomellowpoppets.

I may have to email the maker for her pattern. I think I saw it for sale on her Facebook page.
So darn cute.

Ok... time to get moving...

ONWARD...

So, I'm sitting here reading blogs, making comments etc, and me phone rings.
It's CAROL from 'the sewing machine shop'!!!

MY DREAMWEAVER IS HERE!  OMG OMG... I am leaving right now to get it.  I can have a lesson on it tomorrow.  Cos I've got to work this afternoon, and there won't be time to pick it up, stay for a lesson and then go to work!

OMG I'm so excited....

SEE! SEE!  ... he is here.  And now... I've gotta go and work at the Hospice Shop.  I am taking the instruction manuals with me and if I get a chance I will pour over them.

FROGGY!  You have one?  OMGosh, yes you can probably give me some tips... when I get to a 'problem'!

I'M SMILING EAR TO EAR RIGHT NOW.

Hi Chris, I am new to yr blog and I am fascinated about your life! I have read your archives and think you are such an inspiring lady!! Your lovely quilts, mug rugs and collection of nautical things are all just su cute. I also admire how much you love your kids and grandkids. What an open heart you andStew have! It is lovely to see that you and Stew opened up your home so that Steve, Bex and gorgeous Dante can live with you. It would be lovely if you can give some advice to your readers on how that all works for you. You see my son and his girlfriend tried it at our house. It wasnt good. The couple would row constantly and they had no privacy (we have a small house). My husband and I would hear everything, the rows etc. How do you give Steve and Bex their privacy? Do they ever feel trapped that they don't have more independency. I am only asking this, not because I am nosey, but because this kind of advice is crucial if couples live with their parents for a while. I must admit it wasn't easy for me either. I constantly felt that my mouth would open when it should've been shut. Long story short, my son moved out from our house and moved into her parents house. I still feel bitter about that, like my house wasn't good enough. Can you shed some light for those, like me, who feel like a failure?

Hi Susan, just wanted to say that you shouldn't feel like a failure. I don't know what happened with your son and your situation, but it can be a stressful situation for all involved, especially since the reason for it happening in the first place is often financial so at least one party is stressed to begin with. I haven't gone home to live with my parents (yet!) but two of my siblings have, and while it worked out okay it was not easy. A small house would have made it doubly difficult. Try not to be so hard on yourself (easier said than done, I know!). Penny, in Australia

  3. Yay! New toy! If you don't have time to find a short course at your local educational centre, find a good online one. I could tell you what each one of those things are if you want a crash course. I could email you one topic at a time to tell you what they are and how to use them?

  12. I'm very happy for you that you have such a snazzy machine, you really deserve it. I look forward to hearing about and seeing your new creations! :)

You gave very good advice for Susan. Living with family once we are all adults and independent can be extremely difficult! You should be commended for how all of you adults have managed to maintain a happy family home together.
