WINTER HAS ARRIVED

ABOVE:  kids in the hot pools in Hanmer Springs... in the South Island.  Up here in the North Island only certain areas get snow, and thankfully almost NEVER here in Auckland.  But it has certainly been cold here the last couple of days.

ABOVE:  what a gorgeous photo!

ABOVE:  and yep, we have some real fun people here too!  lol

ABOVE:  this is the 'present' I gave to Stew yesterday for our Anniversary.  Another 'treasure' I got from the Hospice Shop.  Love it.

TODAY:  Steve is home as he's working both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, so he's coming with me when I take Griffin to his Speld lesson, then we are going into Pukekohe for a quick lunch together.

This morning: READING BLOGS.
This afternoon: READING BLOGS.

That's all folks... catch ya later.

ONWARD...

We ended up taking Lacy out to lunch too... we went to KFC to try their new Chicken Pie... Steve was insistent that we do...

ABOVE:  the new Pie.  Steve's looked like this, and inside his was moist and succulent... mine on the other hand was dry, cracking up and horrible.  So I took it back and they gave me a fresh one... which was very nice.
While it was nice, I doubt I will ever buy another one.  It was NOT that fantastic and at $4.80 not worth it.

I'm feeling very 'flat' today.

Not a nice feeling, but oh well... suppose I'll get used to it. The reason I'm feeling this way is not going to be rectified cos the 'reason' does not give a shit.  I sure get THAT message loud and clear.

So.... I'm gunna move on and concentrate on the lovely things in my life... my kids, grandkids, darling supportive husband and all my wonderful friends.

And cos this here is my blog... I can and will say how I'm feeling, even though the 'reason' "ORDERED" me not too!

================================================================================================================================================

That be a fucking big wall.  And I ain't ever reading L'sMilestones ever again, cos I don't need or want to have fucking holes poked in me either, I don't need it, and I sure in hell don't deserve it.  FAMILY LOYALTY.  WHAT A FUCKING JOKE.

Thank god most of my kids have my back and would do anything for me.

See, two can play this game.  But, I'm done.  I ain't ever addressing this again.  EVER.

  5. Lime Cheesecake (adapted from Women's Weekly Old Fashioned Desserts)

250g packet plain sweet biscuits (I use Marie or arrowroot)

    125g butter, melted

    250g cream cheese, softened

    395g sweetened condensed milk

(I didn't say this was low fat, did I?)

2 teaspoons finely grated lime rind (be careful not to get the pith cos it's far more bitter than lemon pith and lime rind seems to be finer than lemon)

    80ml (1/3 cup) lime jiuce

    1 teaspoon gelatine

    1 tablespoon water

Blend or process biscuits until misture resmbles fine breadcrumbs. Add butter and process til combined. Press mixtureevenly over base and side of 20cm springform tin, place on oven tray and refrigerate for approx 30 minutes.

Whilst chilling, beat cream cheese in small bowl with electric mixer until smooth. Beat in condensed milk, rind and juice and beat til smooth. (Make sure you get all the mixture off the bottom of the bowl or you'll have to rebeat later cos it will be lumpy)

Sprinkle gelatine over water in small heatproof jug. Stand jug in small saucepan of simmering water and stir til gelatine dissolves. Cool 5 minutes.

Stir gelatine mixture into lime mixture. Pout mixture into crumb crust. Cover and refrigerate til set or overnight.

I did post it on my blog but you must have missed that entry!!

    Enjoy

  6. A note about lack of recent photos on my blog.

I'm still avoiding being on the receiving end of a camera.

Perhaps this weekend I'll get a usable one.

Also although 20 kg is a lot of weight to lose i don't think i look very different from the last photo I posted except that I was bundled up. It was fairly cold on that dinner train. See what you think next week. I'll let you know when I post it.

We've just had a yummy lunch of antpasti. I love those bits and pieces plates.

    Blessings

  9. Our KFC doesn't sell pies. Ooh, now I must go get KFC! There are only 2 persons in my life who always always have my back - hubs and my mother. Everyone else, I expect very little. I have a few real-life friends who have surprised me with their devotion and love.

  11. I was down in Dunedin on Tuesday for a funeral so decided as KFC was opposite the funeral home that I would sample the new pie for lunch - I was quite disappointed with it. The first mouthful was okay, but by the end of it, I had decided I wouldn't be buying it again. You must be paying Auckland prices - cos it was only $4.50 in Dunedin :)

  12. What's wrong with you all? Outside nekkid in the snow! I thought this was a family blog! :-)
KFC = Kitchen For Crooks. I never eat there, rip offishly overpriced
