THIS 'N' THAT - AND A FAIRLY PERSONAL LITTLE RANT

ABOVE:  I get these trite little things off Facebook... sometimes they really hit the nail on the head, and sometimes they don't quite say it all.  But this one, I'm trying to follow.

ABOVE : THIS ONE IS SO TRUE.

So of today's content has been deleted, as it caused a shit storm.

But I am going to leave the following, cos it's how I feel:

When was the last time YOU bothered to ASK how Dad and I felt?  If we were well?  Upset? Needed anything?   Fuck that makes me laugh  cos only Steve, Bex and Lacy ever bother any more, and Bex isn't even one of my kids!

HOW COME WE ARE ALWAYS THE ONES EXPECTED TO DO THE KEEPING IN TOUCH, SHOWING WE CARE?  Love is a two way thing.
And from now on... I'm gunna sit back and wait for my kids to show me they love ME and would do anything for ME (and DAD of course).

TODAY:  First off... check on Lacy... then Stew and I are going over to Mt Eden to pick up the Roman Blinds I won on Trademe the other day.
Might pop into St Lukes mall for a look around too.

And because I am such an EMOTIONAL EATER... I think I've gained another bloody kilo... or two.  I know it's my own fault, but I'd like to blame other people... OK?  *smiles*

ONWARD...

Been over to Lacy's... all is good there.  She is a bit upset she has not heard a word from her sisters.  But I suppose their lives are a bit too busy?

Off to have lunch and pick up those blinds soon.

I was accused of ASSUMING too much recently which really pissed me off... but now the shoe is on the other foot and someone is assuming it's all about THEM... well it ain't.

Well.... looks like it's lunch at home today instead of a mall... which is fine.  Toasted sandwiches sounds good!

Stew and I picked up the roman blinds, now it's time to see where they will fit!

TRACY: this had NOTHING to do with Lacy really.

Expecting a lovely evening at home.. I've made ambrosia for dessert... butter chicken for dinner... all yum!

End of Day:  yaaa, almost time for bed... very tired still.
ON TRACK:  NO.
nite nite.

    I hope you have a wonderful day~
Stand strong, and stand firm! They have to mature before they can walk in your foot steps! I've got 6 myself/including the inlaw kids...now 6 grands. You are right!

  4. You've done an amazing job helping Lacy.

Don't let the other kids upset you when you're tired.

Families can hurt each other so much and it's only because we love them so much.

Hopefully this will sort itself out before too long.

You know one weird thing ..... parents are supposed to be more mature than their kids ALWAYS. Kids never think about the way they hurt their parents. It's tough.

Hope you and Stew get some nice quiet happy time in the near future. You've both worked so hard.

    Blessings

  5. When I ring my Mum she never asks me how I am, or about my kids. We talk all about her and in the past I would then tell her about me, hubby and kids. But for the last couple of years I have decided not to say anything unless she asks, and she never does! She aways finishs by saying she will ring me next time, still waiting after like 15 years for the to happen. Some people are just so blind to everyone else around them. So I kind of understand your 'annoyance'.

But saying that, your other kids are all standing on their own two feet and getting on with their lives and sometimes life is busy, especially when you have young kids.

  6. PS Bex is one of your 'kids' now (being the mother of a grandbaby).

  7. When I read your fb status I just prayed for you and the kids all day. I know it is very hard for you and it is hard for the grown kids as well. Lacy has done a lot of things that would make it hard to warm up to her again. I don't know if that's what you're blogging about, but it will take some time because she's broken trust so many times and it's hard on them and everyone. And you! They just are not her Mum, can never see her through a Mum's eyes.

Love to you always. You know, don't you that I do care very much. :)

PS That being said, you need another holiday sounds like. I am serious. I am hoping things heal very soon between your children... just that complete trust and healing yep it does take time. :)

  11. Aaah families, got to love em even if you want to kill em. It is going to take some time before the others warm to Lacy. Maybe she needs to make the first move & invite them for coffee, or just call & say Hi. Baby steps, they may decline the first few times but if she persists and keeps up her current behaviour I am sure at least some of them will soften a bit.

    Have a nice afternoon.

  14. Sometimes when we reach a certain age we realise A: we have pushed our family away or B: pushed our friends away, and around 30 ish that soon surfaces life plays some cruel blows at times, Lacy just has to remeber to continue to live her life with her soon new baby and her sisters and or others will maybe warm to her IT may take a week a month a year she has too be patient.....

  15. Wow I go away from blogging for nearly a year and I miss all the good stuff! I'm sorry to hear what appears to be family issues...this is the main reason I myself have been away dealing with other people's crap in my family *rolls eyes* I just love how you say what you feel and so you should!

  18. Your sayings are true. One of the hardest things that I have learned this year is that there are some things that I can't change. I can only change myself and hope for the best. It has been a hard pill for me to swallow, but I've learned to accept it. Hang in there!
