TEN WEEKS AND THREE DAYS

Today our first born puppy from our first ever litter leaves home.

ABOVE: Coco and her first litter of pups.  3 girls and 3 boys... such a clever wee girl.

ABOVE:  the pups at 8 weeks old, just before the first one (Chico, formerly Pinky) left home.

ABOVE:  Coco and her first born, just for a little while he was all on his own...

ABOVE:  and here he is again... on his own just for a little while.  He has been a delightful wee puppy to raise, along with is brothers and sisters.

He leaves home today.

And I am left wondering... will we do this again?   It is quite a bit of work, and not a cheap exercise either.  We have been incredibly lucky in having no problems at all with them or Coco.  I know this is beginner's luck.

So, I shall ponder the "will I" ... "won't I" for a while before I make up my mind.

As we are expecting Bruiser's new family after lunch we are going to stay home and do some housework this morning.  We have family coming to dinner tonight, so I shall do some prep for that too.

ONWARD...

So.. the beef/bacon/tomatoe/mushroom casserole is cooking in the crock pot... I've made the lemon meringue pie... just have to make the meringue for the top after dinner... all organised!
Just waiting now for the people to arrive to pick up Bruiser...

ABOVE:  Bruiser's new Mum.  The rest of the family were at home, the young children were having a nap.  They have no idea they are getting a puppy!  Melissa is going to email me and let me know how it goes.
I'm sure the kids will be wrapt with him.

Time for us to tidy the house in readiness for this evening...

End of Day:  well a very nice evening has been had.  Dinner was excellent, the rugby was.... a bit boring, but still watchable I suppose.  I found it very boring, it was just tackle, tackle, tackle... kick, kick, kick.
I hope tomorrow's game between our All Blacks and Australia is a really good game.
nite nite

  4. I agree that it has been an amazing experience whether you do it again or not. I know it will be really hard to see Bruiser go even if he is going to a loving forever family.
You and Coco have done a great job.

  5. Oh, that's going to be a wrench when Bruiser goes! I hope you and Coco won't suffer "separation anxiety"! Teddy will be glad to have the house to himself. The whole puppies adventure has gone really well, you and Coco should congratulate yourselves on a job well done.

I hope the cold is better.

  6. Just noticed your comment re luggage - before you pick it up just be warned... don't by the VERY large bags. You know how there are different sizes, the largest is unusable because it will always be over weight if you travel. 23kg is the limit and you will find the bag that is second to largest will fit 23kg nicely. This is from experience - I had to get rid of my biggest bag! If you need dimensions I can get it for you so you don't buy something that will prove useless.

  7. Yesterday is gone, we can't do anything about it.
That's why we call it history.

Tomorrow may never get here, nobody knows what will happen. Tomorrow is a mystery.

All we have is today. Today is a gift.
That's why we call it The Present.

If you want more puppies or you don't, you don't have to make up your mind right now. Stay in Today!

  8. I think Bruiser is saying "don't send me away .
I just read on my blog where you lost your fish so quickly . The place I buy fish are really keen you don't mix the species and when I buy them they put them in a plastic bag and then into a brown bagso they don't suffer stress .
Up to now I have only lost fish due to a heron (big bird) . No more chances for him . My pond is now netted .

  10. They are such gorgeous pups and you'll miss them! I hope they all get great homes and patient people who treat them well. I could never do this. I wouldn't trust anybody with my puppies. We had an awful time when we had to get rid of our kittens just one litter. I would have kept them all.
Bruiser is huge they really should keep his name it fits him perfectly.

  11. Oh man. Thanks for making me sad again. I think you do it again. That way it'll be like you have puppies all the time.
