BE THANKFUL ...

I have been getting the right royal run around by the Garage Door company that installed our new garage door. (Door Doctor)

It leaks.... water runs down INSIDE when it rains.  They came back and 'sealed' it in February after I rang them on/off for weeks... but it didn't work.

So I rang them again, and e-mailed them, and rang and rang... and got told they would be here to fix it asap.  Been waiting 3 months.

So I asked Stew to ring and talk to them yesterday.

The lady who answered the phone assured Stew her boss would ring him back later that day.  Stew said "Fine, but if I don't hear from him by 3pm HE will hear from my lawyer"...

Stew's phone rang really quick after he hung up!

Upshot.  They are coming back either today or tomorrow.

How come they listened to him and not me?

Was is cos he was a bloke?  Or cos he got angry at them and would not take their run around?

Either way, you have to be thankful it wasn't YOU he was mad at eh?  lol

Today:  expecting Amanda and Emily!  Can't wait.  Haven't seen Emily in ages!  Well about 2 weeks?  Babies change so quickly... and I don't want to miss any of it.  It's so sad I can't see Sienna right now.  But I accept that's how it is.  *sigh*

Taking Griffin to his Speld lesson this morning too...

ONWARD...

Taking Griffin to his lesson.  Parked in the middle of a road waiting to turn right.  Indicator on.  Car comes up behind me really FAST.  I'm thinking, hell I hope he realises I'm sitting here waiting to turn right!  He does, just before he rammed into us!  I swear to god it was so close I nearly had a heart attack!

Then 5 miles up the road we have to pass a three car accident, where one car had obviously ran into the back of a bus and the car following had rammed into them!  Not nice.  Took way longer than usual to get Griffin to his lesson cos of the accident.

So an eventful trip!

Home now, boy back at school.  Yakking to Amanda while Emily sleeps.  It's nice to have someone to yak with!  lol

ABOVE:  a couple of shots of Emily today... she is just so bloody cute!

I'm cooking Nacho's for dinner.... a triple amount so I can freeze some (hopefully).

End of Day:  a delightful evening.... and YES, I did get to put extra nacho mix in the freezer for another day!
DIET: good
nite nite.

  1. I'm sure they responded to Stew because he is a MAN! I'm waiting here to get driveway potholes filled, the hedges trimmed (they've done the neighbours) and the flooring people to get back to me.....

    Enjoy Emily:-)

  2. I am sure if you mentioned the lawyer word you would have gotten the same result. It also helps to throw in stuff like Consumer Guarantees Act, Sale of Goods Act, Fair Trading act etc If things get really desperate the words "Fair Go" can also be effective.

  3. Gosh, why do companies do this? It's so rude! When our house was built the landscaper needed to fix our drip system and replace our dead tree. After 2 years we gave up calling. So frustrating.

  4. I think you are right, these companies don't take women very seriously, and that's not only bad business, but a very sad attitude for 2011!
Are these guys a franchise or thier own business name? I wonder if the owner knows this is how they do business?

You will have some gorgeous fur babies to play with when Coco becomes a mum! That was a beautiful photo of her yesterday! Next time you have a problem with a tradesman, just use that magic word - "LAWYER"! WOMBAT

  7. Yep - all the way over here in the good ole USA it is the same story! Men get treated differently! But, I am just glad that you are getting results! Thank goodness you have Stew!

  8. I agree with losing 100; a lot of these companies don't listen to ladies. It's wrong.

I don't know but I think there is a chance you won't have some left to freeze, knowing how your family loves nachoes!====

  14. I disagree, I think women get better response than men. Men don't want to respond to men because they want to prove they're more in-charge. I think the reference to a lawyer helped.

  15. My arguing tool is KEEP talking over the top of them and NO breathing inbetween shouting.
