NO PRESSURE

NEW START No # 5,369.....
Today I will try to start a 'healthy, sustainable' eating plan.

It will consist of:
- a smaller lunch
- no carbs at dinner
- alternate Diet Coke with Water (shock / horror!)
- no snacking (well actually I've got that one down pat already!)
- no potaote/pasta/rice/crackers/cakes/biscuits
- no sweets/ice cream
- more fresh veges and fruit (I hardly ever eat fruit!)

NOT being accountable to anyone... this just puts pressure on me.
Weigh at home once a week.
Exercise 5/7 days.

Try to avoid comfort/emotional eating... think of other ways to de-stress... like sew/pot/paint...

PLAN PLAN PLAN every meal in advance... to avoid the 'oh stuff it, let's get takeaways' scenario.

So, that's where I am today.. trying to be positive and make yet another fresh start.
I know no one gives a shit if I'm overweight... but I do... and that's why I keep trying... and as long as I keep trying the FAT has not won.

MISS ME? hee hee.... been off da computer ALL DAY! I dragged my butt outta bed at about 10.30 this morning... had me shower/hair washed etc and finally in the land of the living at 11.30 am! ...Then we went out for lunch and did the grocery shopping...

ABOVE: the heavens opened as we were leaving the Mall... it totally pissed down! Been expecting bad weather all day... it was AWESOME... hope we get more.
I'm knackered from all the walking around we did... so going to now go and chill out for a while...
End of Day: it's blowing and raining! Hopefully we get thunder and lighteing too! nite nite.

I will be happy for you when you succeed, and sad when you fail. You are just my friend. YOU are a valuable person to me.

BOY THAT SOUNDS CORNY. But it's true. :p

  2. You will get there as long as you just keep trying.

FYI: I gave up my daily habit of diet coke over a year ago and it didn't have any effect on my weight so if it makes you happy and keeps you from eating/drinking higher cal. foods I say drink it.

  6. Firstly don't stress about the coke - I agree more water would be good though. I too and starting again tomorrow. I found that on the low carb thing I didn't get hungry therefore did not overeat. Heck, since I've been back to eating bread and carbs my appetite has been out of control!! I plan to try low GI which allows for low GI carbs. Good luck :)

  8. Chris, I am along with you on this ride. I've been fighting my weight since I was old enough to realize it was a problem. I hate it. I've been seeing a weight management doctor since Feb. and have only lost 11 pounds. Better than nothing, but I feel like I should have lost 50! I've only got something like 100 to go...sheesh, will there ever be an end to it?

Hang in there, do your best, and know that there are people like me all over the place in the same spot as you, fighting the same battle.

  10. Well I do give a shit - only because it is causing you so much grief mate as I know what the self loathing feels like.

Your plan is a good sensible approach to take, just take it one day at a time and soon you'll have the runs on the board on the way to success!

  12. Chris

Someone on the weight watcher's message board has as their tagline "we never fail until we stop". I think that is such an important thing to remember--if we keep trying, we are not failing unless we give up. So good for you on your fresh start.

    Good luck!!

  14. I'm joining you hon!
It's the start of spring... and it would be great to lose a few Kgs before summer hey?

Good action plans you have there!

And as a diet coke LOVER myself... I first went onto caffeine free diet coke (and yep.. I got killer headaches for a few days)... then I limited myself to 300mls (or one can) a day.

This time around, I've bought a heap of 600ml bottled water (they were on special). I'm keeping them in the fridge, and I've lost my urgent desire for DC. I'm keeping the bottles too, so I can refill them with my filtered water when I've run out.

Do whatever works for you hon. You've lost weight before... and you can do it again. Day by day.

  17. I, also, give a shit! It sucks to have every piece of clothing you own feeling tight on you. It sucks when you watch your own blood eat whatever they want and they never gain. It really sucks when you can't do simple things, like tie your own shoes!

But like so many of your friends have said, "You go, girl! Keep trying! It's okay if you make a mistake, get right back on the horse! (and my favorite) You can't fail unless you stop trying."

I'm sending great big hugs your way. Hang in there!

  19. Yeah make it good water and be sure you get some healthy fats! Organic butter, olive oil, avacados, & virgin coconut oil are some. SHOCK, but if you don't eat some good fats your body won't turn loose of the saved stuff. How about some organic butter? That will fix your cravings. Natural "carbs" like real potatoes in your gorgeous stew pot with carrots, veggies & meat is a great way to cook and eat. Yeah I was looking. Get that big ole pot out every day and stew chickens, range fed meat, lamb whatever you have a hankering for. If you cut the sweets, the fake crap, and even cut back on your diet coke you'll make it and feel terrific too.
I am so proud that you have even agreed to try WATER!!! that is so great, please drink filtered water not propel or gatorade or any other sugary crap, just plain filtered water, or mineral water.

You go chicka!!! I am so rooting for us to both get rid of the flab. Mine is coming off, of course when yours comes off between being so artistic, lovely, in shape and thin; well there just won't be any living with you.
